I'm generally a good customer when it comes to the LEGO Star Wars range. And not always very objective, I readily admit. But unlike some, I don't worship Jabba and his minions or his palace without limits.
This remake, which evokes a certain nostalgia in older collectors, isn't what I was expecting. The minifigures in this 9516 Jabba's Palace set are exceptional, no doubt about it. The new version of Jabba has been significantly improved aesthetically and will appeal to younger fans who weren't particularly fond of the 2003 green plastic figure.
It is on the side of the pseudo-palace that things get complicated. I have the impression that it was tailor-made for the Jabba minifigure, with a big concern for saving parts and space. On arrival, I can't help but sketch a wry smile when I look at the visual above: Everyone is crammed into this rather rickety mini house, cut in two, decked out from one tower to the next. floors a little unnecessary and not even raised to benefit from the trap door located under the Jabba support.
Someone at LEGO must have made a mistake when translating Jabba The Hutt as Jabba's Hut.
So I want to understand all the explanations given here and there by those who want to justify the manufacturer's choices, but a few additional parts, a little air and four piles would not have endangered LEGO and its profitability ...
