GRogall unearths an interesting web address: LEGOmen.de... No, this is not a novelty as I have read in various places, but it is indeed a marketing initiative of the manufacturer which already dates back to 2010 and which aimed to target male customers adult brand by promoting, among other things, sets from the Technic range or UCS sets.

The site dedicated to this promotional campaign is in German, and benefits from a modern and efficient layout. The masculine, organized, serious and adult side emerges from the overall presentation. It is always kept up to date because there are relatively recent sets (2011) such as the Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 400 (8110), the Volkswagen T1 Camper Van (10220) or Millennium Falcon (7965). 

At the time, LEGO also published advertising pages presenting set 8043 in several lifestyle magazines aimed at an exclusively adult and male readership and a Dutch high-end costume seller even offered Technic sets to his customers and ensured them promotion in its window.

In any case, this is once again proof that LEGO cares about its adult customers and knows how to sectorize its communication actions by not hesitating to target specific audiences from time to time, as is currently the case with girls. (Friends range with dedicated micro-site).

Take a walk on LEGOmen.de, you will see, one almost has the impression of being elsewhere than on the usual supports declined by the manufacturer. The seriousness of the matter inevitably makes one think of these plethora of micro-sites intended to promote razor or after-shave brands for young adults who are sporty and feel good about themselves ...

As I am still waiting to receive my copies ordered in the USA of this bag that we are not about to see in our regions, I take advantage of the magnificent photos offered by stick_kim on his flickr gallery to briefly talk about Batman's new mask again.

Some already see in this new accessory the thinly veiled announcement of a version based on the third installment of The Dark Knight saga which is due out this summer. However, the exclusive minifigure obviously inspired by the films of the Nolan saga and distributed during the San Diego Comic Con in 2011 was equipped with the mask model that we have all known for many years.

So simple update of an accessory which was singularly lacking in finesse and which deserves to be reviewed and redesigned or marketing of a new version which foreshadows the arrival of Batman-Bale in the form of a set this summer?

We cannot say that Loki's minifigure in the sets 6867 Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape et 6869 Quinjet Aerial Battle is particularly detailed: His outfit, however faithful to that of the film, looks more like a three-piece suit than anything else and his helmet lacks a little relief and shine.

Geoshift solved the problem by modifying the minifig in an excellent way. The legs used here are from the Castle range, and the rest has been painted in a very nice way. The result is truly stunning: The minifigure has a darker look. the scepter was also modified then painted to give it a more tribal touch with the skull and chain.

Leaks continue from the Mexican production plant with this Uruk-Hai apparently from the set 9674 The Orc Forge that a Eurobricks forumer bought at auction on eBay. You can also afford one at this address, the sale is still in progress ....

It would also appear that these brave LEGO employees are lining their pockets with various and varied parts, then trying to piece together the original minifigs with varying degrees of success. This gives us magnificent customs based on official coins which are then sold at a high price on eBay, no doubt to add a little meat to the evening fajita ...

The same seller, located in San Antonio, TX and arguably in the Mexican brick cartel loop, was offering a custom Legolas of the set 9473 The Mines of Moria, with legs that are not those that will be delivered in the official range and a priori the head of Gimli ...

You will see action, humor, Strength, characters who have nothing to do there, in short only good for over 8 minutes. And what's more, the vintage side will delight those nostalgic for the Castle and Kingdoms ranges. Star Wars fans will also find something there ...
