7877 review
It is Sir von Lego who sticks to Eurobricks with this first review of the set 7877 Naboo Starfighter "Special Edition".

We learn that this set of 318 pieces contains as announced 6 minifigs (Young Anakin, Naboo Fighter Pilot, R2D2, 2x Security Droid & Destroyer Droid) and costs 49.99 € at Toys R Us.

We are entitled to a new Naboo pilot, and two "Security Droids" whose torso reveals a rather dubious print quality. Unless it is intended by LEGO to produce an artistic visual effect ....

Anakin's minifig is the same as the one in the set 7962 also released this year with its two-sided face. Once again we are entitled to a sheet of stickers to dress the Naboo Starfighter. The Destroyer Droid benefits from a rather successful new design. The ship remains essentially identical to that of the set 7660 released in 2007. gt 150 7958 g

This is the site exoneit.de who publishes what seems to be the final version of the box set 7958 Star Wars 2011 Advent Calendar.

Announced for 26/09/2011, this set will contain as expected 16 mini-models and 8 minifigs. Be careful, however, this visual of the box does not mention the number of pieces (266), nor the detail of the content as we saw on the preliminary visual of the box that I showed you in this news February 15 2011.

The awful Yoda / Santa Claus is confirmed, and among the mini-models we will therefore find a rather average Millennium Falcon, a fairly successful Slave I and a fairly nice X-Wing Starfighter.

goof 10221

Come on, to add a layer and show you in detail what you will be able to afford from September 1 for nearly 400 €, I can not resist the pleasure of showing you the level of finish made in LEGO with this beautiful spelling mistake on the sticker for set 10221 Super Star Destroyer.  turbolaser bECOMES "turoblaser"

You are probably saying to yourself: "This is only a press kit photo, we will not be entitled to that in real life ..." and yet the set in question was exhibited at BrickWorld and the sticker was proudly displayed the same fault ...

On the minifig side, LEGO is not very generous on this set.
The Admiral  Firmus Piett with his Southerner cap and his face borrowed from the minifigure of Professor Snape (Harry Potter) is not revolutionary.
Darth Vader only worth the brick with its Sidious hologram.
boss , well Bossk what ... already seen in the set 8097 Slav I.
Dengar is quite successful and radically different from the visual seen on the poster mentioned in this news. The mixture of brown and white colors makes it much better than the gray that we had seen.
L'GI-88 with its screen-printed head is a nice evolution in the range of assassin droids (see this news).

TLC was quick, the official announcement of set 10221 took place today and the photos in the box posted on flickr have miraculously disappeared (Fortunately Hoth Bricks directly hosts all of his photos ...).

We are entitled to a slew of visuals on which we can discover this set from all angles. In the end, this set, visually impressive from certain angles, reveals its weaknesses, especially when we see the underside of the machine which is severely lacking in finish.

I'll let you make up your own mind, and decide if you'll spend € 399.99 on this set, by clicking on the photos to view a large version.
