With the arrival of the novelties of this second wave, we are also entitled to the usual advertisements produced by LEGO and rather well done featuring the latest sets.
Thus, in the video below we find the sets  7964 Republic Frigate et 7959 Geonosian Starfighter in a sympathetic setting. The various possibilities in terms of the frigate's playability are presented in detail.

Another carefully crafted advertisement presents the set 7962 Anakin's & Sebulba's PodracersThe staging of the race is excellent and we thus better understand the interest of the handle / support in trans-clear and the removable "dock" used to present the two podracers.

It was while surfing FBTB that I came across these incredible minifigs equipped with LEDs. Rob from Brickmodder Labshas succeeded in integrating a LifeLites LED lighting system and a CR1025 format battery in several minifigs at the request of its customers.

In bulk, we thus find a C-3PO Chrome Gold, an R2-D2, an Iron Man or some custom minifigs. The result is stunning and really brings a touch of surrealism to these minifigs.

do not hesitate to visit the blog of this gentleman who presents numerous integrations of LED lighting systems in LEGO products.

Even stronger, he managed to integrate into an R2-D2 minifig a sound / lighting system recovered from a Hasbro figurine. The printed circuit had to be adapted in order to reduce its size to allow integration into the minifig. Everything is powered by a CR1225 battery hidden in the minifig. A touch button has also been integrated on the top of the dome of R2-D2. Watch the video below to admire the result.

7961 review
Clone Scout from the Imperium der Steine forum offers its review of set 7961 Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator just available.

This set, evolution of the versions already released in 1999 (7151 Sith Infiltrator) and in 2007 (7663 Sith Infiltrator), consists of 479 pieces and 4 minifigs: Darth Maul, Captain Panaka, Padme Amidala & Qui-Gon Jinn.

Note the presence of stickers and two instruction booklets. Regarding the ship, nothing very exciting. Little playability, a nice design but no frills and it is still Darth Maul's speeder that I find the most successful ...

Minifigs are much more interesting. Darth Maul sports a "crown" of thorns and retains its ominous look. A hood is also provided with this minifigure.
Qui Gon Jinn
is equal to himself with his look of .... bearded and haired Qui-Gon Jinn.
Padme Amidala
is she a little disappointing: her silly eyes and coarse hair deserved better. Natalie Portman must be annoyed to see herself thus reduced to a minifigure dating from the 80s decked out in false eyelashes and a "brown" lipstick.
Captain panaka
, despite its very "cartoon" side is the one that I like the most in this set. The colors of his outfit and his cap are homogeneous.

picture catalog 2011
This is the forumer Jansued which creates the sensation of the day on the Eurobricks forum. He posted a (somewhat fuzzy) photo of a poster featuring artwork from this year's set minifigs. Please note, these are works of art and not photos of the minifigures.

Among this selection of minifigs, many are already known and have been presented on this blog and many other sites. But we see for the first time the minifigs of this year's mystery set: 7879 Hoth Echo Base.

The most intriguing figurine is undoubtedly that of Luke which according to the various information available will be presented in a bacta tank.
There is also an artwork of Surgical Droid 2-1B whose color is puzzling: the arms and legs are in a different color from that of the torso and the head.
Also announced and therefore present on this page, the R-3PO in dark red present at the Battle of Hoth. The image is very blurry but we can guess that the minifigure is obviously based on that of the classic C-3POs.
Princess Leia in Hoth outfit, already seen (sw113) in sets 4504 Millennium Falcon et 6212 X-Wing Fighter, seems to have a new hairstyle less ridiculous than the one we already know.
The minifig of Han Solo in Hoth Outfit is classic and except specific screen printing, we already know it very well, because present in particular in the set 7749 Echo Base.
Among the "bad guys" we find an imperial officer, probably theAdmiral Kendal Ozzel  who bears the brunt of Darth Vader's wrath in Episode V.

Decidedly, it's once again tomo, Imperium der Steine forumer, who offers us a first review of one of the sets of this June livery: the 7959 Geonosian Starfighter.
We will not linger on the machine itself, revisited version of that of the set 4478 Geonosian Fighter released in 2003, with a nice cockpit in addition. Tomo also indicates that the instruction book was not supplied with a rigid protection, which confirms that this measure only applies to the largest sets and he notes that for 40 € and 155 pieces, LEGO would have made the effort to add a Geonosian minifig (set 4478 contained 2).
On the minifig side, the Geonosian Pilot is quite successful, the screen printing on the torso and legs is impeccable and the head is rather original. Ki-Adi-Mundi is just as nice despite a very "Cartoon" silkscreen print on his head, probably to match the universe of the animated series Clone Wars. The technique used here to reproduce the growth on the skull of Ki-Adi-Mundi (See his Wookiepedia file) will have its detractors but I still think that the idea is not bad.
Meet at this address on the Imperium der Steine forum to discover this set from every angle.
