The question is simple and many of us ask ourselves regularly without really knowing the answer: After how many assemblies/separations does an ABS plastic LEGO brick lose its interlocking capacity ( Clutch Power )?
Philippe Cantin is a perseverant, and he decided to provide an early answer to this thorny question asked about bricks.stackexchange.com by creating a stand-alone test bench to test the primary function of LEGO bricks.
The experiment is interesting, even if on a purely scientific and statistical level it would have to be repeated several times to establish a more reliable average.
The test result was obtained after 10 days of continuous testing with 37112 assemblies / separations before the bricks lost their original interlocking properties.
