competition toys r us france 2016 lego

May the fourth be with you ! It is May 4 and to celebrate this day with dignity, I am offering you a new competition organized in partnership with the Toys R Us brand, specialist in toys, de Star Wars and distributor of all the LEGO ranges.

Every year, many of you are also wondering why May 4th is a special date for fans of the saga. We have heard everything about it: improbable anecdotes, far-fetched explanations, urban legends peddled between fans, etc ...

Fans of the Star Wars saga in any case quickly appropriated this expression very close to the famous "May the Force be with you", and May 4th was proclaimed Star Wars Day. Contrary to popular belief, Lucasfilm is not at all at the origin of this annual celebration that has become essential over the years, but has integrated the event into its calendar of events around the Star Wars universe.

On the menu of this competition: What to reward 11 winners in total with for the big winner, a copy of the excellent set 75105 Millennium Falcon (Public price 164.99 € - Sold 139.99 € at Toys R Us).

10 other winners will be rewarded: They will receive a copy of the polybag 5002948 C-3PO.

I would like to remind you that Toys R Us has the exclusivity (excluding LEGO Shop) of many LEGO sets in different ranges (Ninjago, Friends, City, Technic and of course Star Wars). These exclusives are gathered in the "Only at Toys R Us"from the brand's website.

In the LEGO Star Wars range, sets 75142 Homing Spider Droid (2016) et 75086 Battle Droid Troop Carrier (2015) are for example exclusives of the brand.

This competition is open exclusively to people residing in France.

You have until May 10, 2016 at 23:59 p.m. to register.

winner hoth competition 75098 hothbricks may 2016

More than 2600 of you entered the competition to win a copy of the controversial LEGO Star Wars set 75098 Assault on Hoth worth 249.99 €.

There is obviously only one winner, drawn at random from all valid entries registered, and this time it is Julien S. (Participation # 1058).

As there are several Julien S. among the participants, know that the winner has just been contacted by email to organize the sending of the prize which will be accompanied by a Hoth Bricks minifig. If this is you and your email address is valid, you have received a message from me ...
In this regard, I note that many participants have trouble entering their email address correctly (gnail.com, yaho.fr, etc ...). Be careful, I can guess some of them, but if you make a mistake on your name / first name, sometimes it is more complicated ....

Note on your tablets: A nice contest organized in partnership with the Toys R Us brand will be launched here on May 4th. More details in a few days.

75098 hoth contest april 2016

To accompany the launch of the already controversial UCS set 75098 Assault on Hoth, LEGO has been generous. Many sites, including Hoth Bricks, were offered a copy of the set, just to give maximum visibility to this box.

Le bashing around this box has only just begun and negative reviews (but not too much anyway) will rain: Too expensive (249.99 € in the LEGO Shop and in the LEGO Stores), not really a UCS, compilation of elements already seen and reviewed in the LEGO Star Wars range, very approximate reproduction of the base of the film (The lookout post imported from Yavin, three generators instead of four , etc ...), imbalance of the forces present, not enough AT-AT, another Snowspeeder, no Reikan / Leia, we already know each other's arguments and the final opinion will always be composed of 'a for / against which will allow to delay and kick in touch. After all, it's LEGO that treats everyone and those who will give their opinion in the days to come have not paid a penny: Their "final notice"will necessarily be affected.

Do not let yourself be too influenced by the usual "It was better before", this is not always true especially in the LEGO Star Wars range, and remember that we all have our share of responsibility in the evolution of the content of certain boxes: In many ranges, fans swear by by minifigs, the rest often being seen as props. LEGO takes that into account and throws a Tauntaun, a Wampa and a few rebels in a box with a few walls / trenches around it. And that's the result.

Make no mistake, the best thing that could happen to this box is not to sell as well as LEGO expected. The followers of the speculation will then rub their hands by stocking a few copies that they will come out of the closet in a few years.

The set will have become "vintage" and / or "collector" and it will probably be necessary to pay double the current price to acquire it. You will see that one day this box will tear up on the secondary market, the worst sets in the LEGO Star Wars range are still selling very well on eBay or Bricklink ...

Rather than showering yourself with unnecessary considerations about this set, I will let you make your own opinion by discussing with your conscience and your wallet and I suggest that you try to win a copy.

If you were going to give it to yourself discreetly despite the public outcry, you would save 249.99 €, if you had decided to skip for one reason or another it would be a good opportunity to add it to your collection without having to loose money.

The competition is open exclusively to persons residing in the following countries and territories: Metropolitan France, French overseas departments and territories, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Belgium.

One entry per participant, you have until April 30 at 23:59 p.m. to register.
