The first teaser of the second installment of the adventures of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket Raccoon is available and it's an opportunity to talk (briefly) about what LEGO has planned to accompany the release of the film in April 2017 .
What we know for now is that three boxes bearing the references 76079, 76080 and 76081 are planned. And that's all. No other information on these sets is available at this time.
Three sets were also released in 2014 to coincide with the release of the previous film: 76019 Starblaster Showdown (€25.99), 76020 Knowhere Escape Mission (€51.99), and the highly successful 76021 The Milano Spaceship Rescue (€86.99). For those who missed out, these three sets are no longer sold by LEGO, but they are of course available on the secondary market.
As for polybags, we had to make do with a single bag exclusive to the Toys R Us store ( LEGO Reference 5002145 ) containing a new version of Rocket Raccoon accompanied by a Baby Groot.
An exclusive minifigure was given to a few lucky people at San Diego Comic Con 2014: The Collector , portrayed on screen by Benicio Del Toro.
Finally, an exclusive set limited to 1000 copies was released during San Diego Comic Con 2014. The box contained 145 pieces, Rocket Raccoon in the same version as the polybag 5002145, and a chibi version of the Warbird.
