Advanced Recon Commando Speeder by Omar Ovalle

Regulars of this blog know Omar Ovalle, a friendly character with whom it is easy to discuss and exchange, and inspired designer who creates many LEGO Star Wars sets, MOCs associated with always impressive box visuals. As some people regret, the machines themselves are not ultra-sophisticated UCS or MOCs, but that is not necessarily the goal of this artistic process.

He offers us two new sets with a Advanced Recon Commando Speeder, which immediately brings to mind the Freeco Speeder from set 8085 both in the form and in the choice of colors and a Asoka's Cargo Bay Fighter once again well in the spirit of the System range.

In addition, Omar Ovalle announces that he will embark on a new series of creations involving Speederbikes and Action Figures on the Star Wars theme ...

To follow closely on his flickr gallery on which you will also find some Steampunk creations. This is not a theme that I particularly like, but I know that many of you like this theme, which is also featured in issue 16 of BrickJournal just out.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 minifigures

So here is a real photo of some of the minifigs planned for 2012. The format is not very large but the shot at least has the merit of presenting these minifigs without retouching or artificial enhancement as is a bit the case with the official visuals always very attractive ...

We therefore find in order the two troopers of the Battle Pack 9488 Elite Clone Trooper & Commando Droid Battle Pack, Barriss Offee and Commander Gree from the set 9491 Geonosian Cannon, and C-3PO, who definitely seems to have silkscreened eyes, accompanied by a Sandtrooper from the set 9490 Droid Escape.

The merit of this image is above all to confirm that someone, somewhere, has already got their hands on these minifigs or these sets .... Without doubt one of our Mexican Mercado Libre experts...

Series 6 Minifigures

LEGO just uploaded on the official website the visuals and bios of each minifig of series 6. We discover the color of the bag and the box and each character is entitled to a detailed description which in the end will not interest many people.

Indeed, from January 2012 when LEGO announces the official marketing of this 6th series, expect to come across in store all the types who want an army of Roman soldiers as well as Celtic warriors for their big thematic diorama project planned for 2027 and which we will probably never see. These two minifigs are already doomed to disappear from the rays in a flash, and the technique of feeling bag will be easy because of the characteristic parts of these two characters (Lance, shield, helmet, etc ...).

For the rest, the level is still as good with characters well detailed and equipped with interesting accessories. I really like the Lady Liberty and  clockwork robot.

Note that the dedicated website offers a good fifteen funny mini-games, some wallpapers and videos.

Midi-scale Radiant VII by Brickdoctor

If you're disappointed with the Star Wars 2011 Advent Calendar, and you're already fed up with opening a box every day for a handful of pieces that, put together, will look like a familiar contraption from a distance, here's what you need: Brickdoctor decided to reproduce the Star Wars Advent Calendar with creations under LDD reproducing on a more attractive scale the real content discovered each day.

Today, he therefore offers us a Radiant VII Republic Cruiser in Midi Scale quite successful and partly inspired by iomedes work on this ship.

Brickdoctor also provides the file in .lxf format of this MOC if you want to reproduce it.

6864 Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase

The Toys R Us brand references the set 6864 Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase on its US site with a sale price set at $ 49.99.

It is better not to draw a hasty conclusion on the basis of this price, too many parameters come into play and LEGO openly admits to adapting its prices according to the marketing area, the competition and the standard of living of the country concerned ....

Regarding availability, nothing specific, the set is announced as "out of stock for shipping" but like "Sold in stores"... provided you find it.

In short, not much to eat while waiting to see if an American actually finds it in stores in the hours or days to come ....
