Always at the forefront, Imperium der Steine gives us the first review of this set 7879 Hoth Echo Base.
We discover close-ups of the different minifigs, including two faces for Luke and Leia.
Han Solo comes in Hoth outfit with a new hood and classic hair. The 2-1B medical droid is well made, and proves to be as unstable as that provided in previous sets.
Red R-3PO is a recolored C-3PO model.

The review author regrets that LEGO tried to replicate many of the Hoth base spaces in such a compact set, forgetting many details and damaging the overall credibility of the set.
We also regret the absence of one or two rebel soldiers in order to balance the forces present and improve the gameplay. On the shape, the bags are numbered, the instructions separated into two booklets, and the sheet of stickers seems to benefit from a more effective glue than that of the stickers of the sets 7965 Millennium Falcon et 7962 Anakin's and Sebulba's Podracers for which the author encountered adhesion problems.

You have seen this visual before, but this time you can access a high resolution version (by clicking on the image opposite) and enjoy all the details of this already very controversial set even before its official release.

It will be noted that Leia is holding an ice cream which one wonders what she is doing there, except if it is a wink from LEGO. On the minifig side, Luke is well screen printed, and this minifig, despite its limited use in the context of the Bacta Tank, will delight collectors.

For the rest, nothing new that has not already been said: It is clearly a playset intended for the youngest and not a reproduction of a place or a scene seen in the film. However, a Snowspeeder wouldn't have been too much, although we all already have a slew of them in our collection. We will also regret the use once again of stickers instead of screen-printed parts, especially in a playset where their lifespan will be extremely short.

After presenting this set in the first part 10221 Super Star Destroyer,  drdavewatford continues with the assembly of this machine which will have unleashed passions and created controversy even before its release.
The bags are therefore numbered, and assembly is therefore much simpler than on certain sets whose bags are not identified.
The basic structure which is flat and constitutes the underside of the machine consists of two layers of plates, reinforced by a third layer in the most fragile places.
The author of the review rightly notices the presence of pieces in colors that do not really match the set, such as pieces in Dark Tan or Red, and draws the conclusion that the designer intentionally wanted to provide buyers with a few varied pieces. that could be useful to their MOCs. The theory holds ...
The command bridge is dressed in stickers, which become unnecessary when we already know that this type of product is more intended for exhibition than for play and that this space is covered by part of the space city ...
The city's greebling at the rear is disappointing in close-up view. The mixture of gray is not convincing, and the level of detail is still sketchy.

Okay, this isn't a new set, or even a book, it's just a 2012 LEGO Star Wars themed calendar published by the company HEYE, and which will be sold among others at Amazon for the modest sum of 15.23 €.
The publisher's description (summarily translated from German) tells us the color: A format of 45 x 30 cm, 12 pages (fortunately) and 45 stickers. I do the math all over the place, but I find it excessively expensive.

In short, nothing to get carried away, this product will be reserved for collectors who are still looking for what may be missing in their collection, or for those who absolutely need a calendar for 2012 and who do not like Clara Morgane's.

Received a few days ago the new LEGO Collector 2nd Edition catalog edited by Fantasia Verlag and pre-ordered almost two months ago.

We will quickly forget the pathetic gift offered, an uninteresting key ring with the "Space" logo which even with a limited edition will have difficulty in attracting anyone except perhaps a few sellers on Bricklink or eBay ....

The book itself is nice. It is neither a "bible", nor an encyclopedia as I could see some getting carried away on this subject on various forums.
This is simply a compendium of all LEGO production since 1949 illustrated with nice photos, and some key information about each set (Year of production, number of pieces and rating depending on supposed rarity ( Not always very realistic)). We are far from the Universalis or the New Testament anyway ....

Despite everything, I enjoy leafing through this very, very fine paper book from time to time, and discovering sets or ranges that I didn't know. And it was while leafing through this book that I came across two new releases from the Star Wars range (I'm not the only one apparently). These are two 3 in 1 Super Packs of which I offer you photos taken by yours truly below:

Super Pack 3in1 66395, composed of sets 7957 Sith Nightspeeder, 7913 Clone Trooper Battle Pack et 7914 Mandalorian Battle Packsystem. (I already told you about this set in this article)
