You probably already know that the content of this box is an interpretation freely inspired by what the set offered in 1979 928/497 Galaxy Explorer. Those who had the emblematic grey, blue and yellow spaceship in their hands in the 80s will necessarily be receptive to this new product, the others will probably only see it as a spaceship that is a little too vintage and much too flat. to encourage them to checkout.
It is obviously not a school reissue of the original product: the ship here is more detailed, larger and above all it benefits from the inventory of parts produced by LEGO since the 80s to allow itself some aesthetic fantasies. Those who played with the original ship will probably remember that it was then accompanied by a base plate with its craters and a lunar module. These elements go by the wayside here, only the little rover remains.
This product therefore appeals to the nostalgia of children who have become adults, everything has been thought out to bring them back a few decades without offering them an experience that is too "vintage" which could prove disappointing compared to other products that is currently putting LEGO on the shelves. One could even consider that this new version embodies the somewhat idealized version that the children of the time could have kept in their memories. The level of detail of the 1979 product was very satisfactory for the time, that of 2022 complies with current standards.
Predictably, the ship's internal structure involves a large handful of beams and pine Technic which allow the fuselage to be spread out 52 cm long by 32 cm wide without the risk of breaking everything at the slightest manipulation. We can imagine that those who will pay for this product will want to at least play with it a little before putting it on a shelf, so the whole thing had to be strong and rigid enough to allow these essential few minutes of nostalgia.
The central part of the cabin makes use of some interesting techniques, you won't get bored even if the final result, which is relatively banal, may suggest the opposite. The designer has done his homework: the ship's innards are colored but this product only uses tints that were available in 1979, with the exception of the Medium Stone Gray. The leading edge of the wings is nicely executed, it brings an excellent level of finish to the whole and somewhat compensates for the relative visual simplicity of the central part of the ship. This ship also has three retractable landing gears, a nice improvement that corrects the "flaw" of the reference model.
There are also two examples of the new yellow canopy and the designer has added an airlock with a movable door to the rear of the cockpit. The little rover is stored in the hold, it descends by sliding on a black plate which is usually used as a support for the presentation stickers of the "collectors" products.
No stickers in this box and it was the least of things for a product to the glory of the manufacturer and one of its historical ranges. Everything is stamped with a large handful of very vintage elements that will undoubtedly bring back memories to some.
In the radius of the slightly annoying details: the two canopies are not protected and they therefore do not escape a few scratches while walking in the bags in the middle of other rooms. It's a shame, LEGO could have made the effort for this occasion to wrap them in the plastic seen on the windshield of the DeLorean of the set 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine and canopy from the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series set 75341 Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder.
LEGO also promises to be able to assemble two other smaller vessels freely inspired by those of the sets 924 Space Transporter et 918 Space Transport using the inventory provided. However, it will be necessary to wait for the availability of the corresponding instruction booklets in digital format to possibly engage in the exercise. The most nostalgic will perhaps make the effort to invest in three boxes to bring together the fleet of ships of their childhood instead of dismantling one to assemble the other, which no one will do. LEGO never misses an opportunity to push the expense but does not deign to provide pad-printed bricks matching the two other models, with the mentions LL 924 and LL 918.
One could also consider that the subject is treated here almost too seriously. We remember the more crazy interpretation of the ships of the Classic Space range in the set The LEGO Movie 70816 Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!, the tribute was there but with a big dose of fantasy that had aroused the interest of fans. Here, it's more serious, you have to seduce those who have had the original products in their hands right down to the design of the packaging, which frankly draws on all the visual codes of the time.
As for the minifigs delivered in this box, LEGO is content to re-invite the original cast with four astronauts, two red and two white, with torsos flanked by the Classic Space logo. Those who collect these astronauts in every colorway out there and never invested in a widely available red version in the 80s or the Toys R Us exclusive pack offered in 2012 will therefore have two copies on hand. The white version was easily accessible in 2019 via the small set The LEGO Movie 2 70841 Benny's Space Squad (9.99 €). LEGO misses here the opportunity to provide us with some alternative colors but it was probably necessary to stick to the reference product without going too far. We still get a air tank black stowed in one of the ship's side containers. Should we see a sign there? Nothing is less sure.
If you intend to buy this box as soon as it goes on sale on August 1st, don't spoil yourself too much about the different assembly phases. Keep the pleasure of discovering the product and its refinements, after all you will spend a hundred euros to have the right to savor this throwback imbued with a bit of modernity.
This set is the cheaper of the two planned for this summer, the other being the reference 10305 Lion Knight's Castle which will be sold at the public price of 399.99 € and which we will talk about later. Everyone is therefore not invited to the anniversary of the LEGO group, the budget necessary to participate in the party is frankly substantial. This box being the less expensive of the two, it's up to you to see if the universe it explores and to which it pays homage brings you back to your youth. If so, you're in luck, you'll get away with it for a lot less than those who played with knights and Foresters. Me, it was the cavalry and the Indians, but with Fort Randall Playmobil.

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75338 Ambush on Ferrix, a derivative of the series Star Wars: Andor currently in pre-order on the official online store and which will be available from August 1, 2022 at the public price of 79.99 €. There is probably not enough to make an endless dissertation about this small box of 679 pieces including three minifigs but I am impatient to discover this new series and I was rather happy to be able to assemble its contents by watching on a loop the very successful trailer available online.
No mystery in this set, all the elements present are in the trailer: The Imperial Tac-Pod makes an appearance there in three copies, Diego Luna is very discreet but we know that he takes over the role of the character by Cassian Andor as seen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, we know that Stellan Skarsgård embodies Luthen Rael and Syril Karn is one of the inspectors in uniform who arrive from Coruscant. The speeder bike is a speeder bike like there are buckets on all the planets of the Star Wars universe and it will therefore simply be necessary to verify that the promised ambush takes place.
The Tac-Pod in LEGO version seems very correct to me if we take into account the reduced inventory of the product and its positioning as a toy for children. Its assembly even reserves some interesting techniques for managing the angles of the cabin, it has movable side panels, a rear hatch, a widely accessible cockpit and a turret with two Stud Shooters very well integrated.
The ship's finish is satisfactory with some surface texture and acceptable adjustments to the sub-assemblies that make up the cabin. A few stickers come as reinforcements and everything is easily handled without breaking everything. The cockpit canopy is a nicely pad-printed car windscreen, it's successful and it works perfectly in this context. Beware of scratches, no specific protection on this element. Some will see it on arrival as a compressed Razor Crest, others will find it looks like a miniature LAAT, it's Star Wars.
The speeder bike and yet another variation on the subject, it's not the worst at LEGO and the level of detail here is also satisfactory with in particular a whip which embodies a few wires circulating on one of the two side rails placed at the front . The LEGO version is not as "confusing" mechanically as the one that will be visible on the screen, but the designer is doing quite well given the scale imposed. The content of the set is also rather balanced with the possibility of having fun from the unpacking without necessarily having to go back to the checkout.
We will also note the presence of many elements with off-topic colors in the bowels of the Tac-Pod, the designer will undoubtedly have wanted to bring a little color to the inventory. It is often considered that the presence of elements with distinct colors serves as a benchmark when assembling models whose dominant color does not facilitate the task of the youngest, but this gray Tac-Pod does not present a real challenge.
In terms of technical defects, it's the usual catchphrase with parts that are not all the same gray and stickers whose gray background is not matched with the color of the parts on which they must be stuck. Nothing new under the sun, LEGO doesn't seem very concerned about these details and customers obviously seem to be fine with it.
Three minifigs are delivered in this box and for the moment we can only refer to the trailer of the series and the few photos available to judge their relevance. The minifig of Diego Luna (Cassian Andor) seems very correct to me, except for the hair which seems a little too long to me. The pad printing of the outfit is successful, we can clearly distinguish the different layers of clothing under the coat and the alignments between the torso and the legs are almost perfect. Same observation for the figurine of Stellan Skarsgård (Luthen Rael) whose hairstyle seems to me here also a little approximate.
LEGO chose a too dark blue for Syril Karn's outfit, it's more pastel on the screen. All the important details are there with the rank under the chin, the off-center buckles and the transmitter placed on the right shoulder. It will be necessary to check if the visor of the cap should be orange and I think LEGO should have provided additional hair for the character.
You will tell me that there is nothing to marvel at here, especially for 80 €, but I remain very curious to see if Andor is a series that finally puts die-hard fan-service on the backburner to develop both the characters and the political context of the era in question.
I want to believe it, answer from next August 31 with the start of the broadcast of the series on the Disney + platform, and I hope that other characters will soon pass to posterity in minifig starting with a version of the senator Mon Mothma embodied here by Genevieve O'Reilly who resumes her role from thePart III et Rogue One. This set brings in my opinion a bit of freshness in a range that is often content with reissues and other reinterpretations, we are not going to complain that the usual spinning is for once a little set aside.

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75335 BD-1, a box of 1062 pieces currently in pre-order on the official store and which will be available at the retail price of €99.99 from August 1, 2022.
If you have never played video games Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order in which this little robot plays the role of Cal Kestis' companion, this red and white droid is probably unknown to you. If you have followed the series The Book of Boba Fett broadcast on the Disney + platform, this little robot will however seem familiar to you: it looks like BD-72, the handyman droid who assists Peli Motto on Tatooine.
We know that models of droids and other creatures are very popular at LEGO. R2-D2, BB-8, DO or the Imperial Probe Droid from Hoth have already had their interpretations based on bricks and it will be necessary to make room for this new reference which once again declines the concept. BD-1 is not really on the scale of the droid seen in the game, it is smaller in the LEGO version with 31 cm high against more than 45 cm "in real life".
Assembling the robot only takes a few tens of minutes with a handful of parts to stack for the torso, two legs made from Technic beams on which sub-assemblies are clipped and a head made up of large bricks and fairly wide plates . The inside of the legs remains without particular dressing, we can see the gray beams which circulate from the torso towards the feet but it is perfectly connected with the reference robot whose components remain visible at this place.
There are still some interesting techniques to discover over the pages but we have a little trouble on arrival to understand why we spent a hundred euros on this product. The model obtained is not completely static, it benefits from relative mobility with the possibility of directing the head forwards or backwards, of tilting it to the sides or even of slightly moving the legs.
The feet are fixed, so it will not be possible to orient them according to the angle of the legs. In any case, this is not the purpose of this product which is not a toy intended to be tortured by the youngest. The stability of the whole is guaranteed by the extensions at the back of the legs, it will however be necessary to be careful when moving the object so as not to lose an antenna or pick up some parts.
The only real functionality of the product: the drawer placed under the head of the droid which allows you to store a few capsules of Stim. Those who have played the game will understand the reference, others will miss it.
Everyone will have an opinion on the finish of this droid in LEGO version. Those who consider that adaptation necessarily involves a few compromises will be the most indulgent with the clearly visible leg connection points or the front of the feet a little too long compared to the reference robot.
The overall finish seems to me despite everything very correct for an exhibition product which will be observed above all from a certain distance. We easily recognize BD-1 and that is the main thing. It's also the "cute" side of this adult toy that should make the difference, some may see a Wall-E look in it that should convince them to check out.
The only sticker in the set is the one covering the black identification plate. The collector's side of the product is assured, the public price will perhaps go a little better with some fans. The rest of the details on the body of the robot are part-based and we may lose a little in finish, especially at the level of the visor and the sides of the head. However, we are not going to complain, the model lives very well this absence of stickers.
LEGO finally adds an element that will perhaps convince the most hesitant: a droid figurine that takes the mold of the one already seen in the set 75325 The Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter with different pad printing. This figure is nothing special, it just serves as a side decoration on the small black display.
By sticking the sticker on the plate, I thought in passing that it would be time for LEGO to modernize this "collector" presentation of some of these products a little. The watermarked blue visual on the plate seems really outdated and almost cheesy to me, no offense to those who prefer to keep some consistency in their collection of products flanked by these stickers.
Upon arrival, this niche product requires having at least heard of video games Star Wars Fallen Order to know the droid that LEGO proposes to assemble. The public price of the product seems really high to me for the assembly experience offered and the result obtained, there are in my opinion a good twenty euros too much.
I would probably have been more lenient if LEGO had decided to decorate the display with a minifig of Cal Kestis, the hero of the game, instead of imposing the micro-thing on us without much interest.
In summary, it's cute but it's in my opinion a bit too expensive. Those who want to tinker with a BD-72 to show their affinity with the series The Mandalorian / The Book of Boba Fett will also have a good starting point here. We will therefore wisely wait for Amazon to offer an interesting offer to crack, or at least a promotional offer on the official store so as not to have the impression of having paid for this little droid a little too much.

Today we take a quick tour of the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75336 Inquisitor Transport Scythe, a box of 924 pieces currently on pre-order at the public price of €99.99 on the official store and which will be available from August 1, 2022. For those who have not followed: this set is a derivative product of the Obi mini-series -Wan Kenobi whose broadcast ended a few days ago on Disney +.
So it's all about assembling the ship used by the Empire's inquisitors, and the first episode of the series opens with the arrival of these pissed off Jedi hunters on Tatooine. I'm not going to give you an endless verse on the LEGO version of the ship, it's a children's toy that obviously prioritizes playability over finish. The whole thing is pretty well designed, the aesthetic of the reference ship is there and the angles are well managed with some well-thought-out techniques that should satisfy older fans always anxious to discover some ingenious sub-assemblies.
The interior space is easily accessible and there is space to stage the three inquisitors. A handful of stickers gives consistency to the somewhat empty cockpit with only three seats and the whole is closed by a nicely pad-printed red car windscreen. LEGO adds two Spring-Shooters under the wings, they are well integrated but, as usual, they can be easily removed if the product is destined to end its career on your shelves as a simple exhibition model.
This 37 cm long by 24 cm wide and 14 cm high ship is obviously not on the scale of the minifigs and it plays as often on a double scale with an interior suitable for play sessions with minifigs and a outer scale which makes it a compact but very correct model. LEGO adds landing gear under the ship, so it doesn't sit directly on the ground and that's nice.
There are far too many studs visible on the surface for my taste, but it is ultimately beneficial: many smooth black parts are more or less scratched right out of the box and the product would not have really benefited from a coat of Tiles additional. In short, for a hundred euros, it's quite correct and the most demanding can possibly tinker with a support to give a little height to the ship.
For adults who will be tempted to add this box to their collection, the real stars of the set are undoubtedly the minifigs. LEGO does not take us as a traitor and provides us with the trio of inquisitors in the same set. We will remember the distribution of the six Knights of Ren in several boxes in the range, it would have been disappointing to be entitled to the same marketing string here. The Grand Inquisitor, the Fifth Brother and the Third Sister aka Reva are therefore provided in a single box and Obi-Wan completes the cast, it's always taken.
This is not the first appearance of the Grand Inquisitor and the Fifth Brother at LEGO, they were already available in products based on the Star Wars Rebels animated series: the first was delivered in 2015 in the set 75082 TIE Advance Prototype and the second in the set 75157 Captain Rex's AT-TE marketed in 2016.
The versions delivered in this box are logically based on the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and the graphic designer has done his homework. The pad prints are frankly faithful to the outfits seen on the screen and the trio of Jedi hunters is in my opinion very successful. Two of these minifigs are equipped with the same pair of legs and Reva is only entitled to neutral legs, it smells a bit of savings but we'll get by.
We could also regret that the Grand Inquisitor is not equipped with a cape with dark red interior to really stick to his outfit in the series but here too we will have to be content with what LEGO wants to offer us. Reva's hair is not a new element, it was already used for the Orcs of The Hobbit range in 2014 and it was also used for the Valkyrie or Taserface figurines.
Another detail that could have been better interpreted: the face of the Fifth Brother is blue on the LEGO version, it is however almost as pale as that of the Grand Inquisitor on the screen. Too bad also for the handle of Reva's saber which is here identical to those worn by the Grand Inquisitor and the Fifth Brother. However, these few approximations are not enough to spoil the pleasure of obtaining this trio in one and the same box.
The Obi-Wan minifig is generally faithful to the version of the character seen on screen. I have a little trouble with the orange mullet cut but the rest is acceptable. The piece of fabric that slips over the figurine's shoulders creates an illusion and it does us a favor: it hides the difference in color between the character's head and the area of the neck, which should have been flesh-colored. Neutral legs for Obi-Wan, it costs a little less in LEGO.
In short, this box seems to me to be a nice derivative product of the series, the ship is nicely executed, LEGO does not require us to buy several sets to bring together the trio of inquisitors and this set therefore deserves your full attention in my opinion . We will inevitably end up finding it for much less than what LEGO is currently asking for, it will just take a little patience.

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi's Jedi Starfighter, a small box of 282 pieces which is currently in pre-order on the official online store at the public price of 34.99 € with an availability announced for August 1, 2022.
This is not the first version of Obi-Wan Kenobi's ship at LEGO, we had already had a first interpretation in 2002 in the set 7143 Jedi Starfighter, to a version with Hyperdrive in the set 75191 Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive marketed in 2017 and even to a model of the range Ultimate Collector Series with the set 10215 Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter marketed in 2010. Without forgetting the micro-things with that of the set of the range Planet Series 75006 Jedi Starfighter & Kamino marketed in 2013 and that of the set 4487 Jedi Starfighter & Slave I (2003) or the micro-thingy delivered with the LEGO Star Wars magazine in 2021.
This new version of 25 cm long by 13 cm wide is obviously a simple toy for the youngest, so the most demanding fans will find it difficult to find what they are looking for in terms of detail and finish. We get a central fuselage with a few layers of parts to give it a minimum of thickness, fixed wings with correctly managed angles, a bulging space that hides a storage niche for the body of the astromech droid when the dome is in place on the left wing of the ship, a basic cockpit but spacious enough to comfortably install Obi-Wan and two Stud Shooters new generation that can be easily removed if you plan to display this ship as a simple model. Ultimate refinement, this ship has the luxury of having a "retractable" front landing gear that allows it not to be slumped on the ground.
All this is very quickly assembled, knowing that the two wings are necessarily identical except for a few details and that the product is pleasant to build but does not offer breathtaking techniques of creativity. The cockpit's clear bubble isn't protected by the plastic recently seen on the windshields of a few vehicles in what's now called the adult ICONS range, LEGO hasn't decided to make the same effort to the smaller pieces delivered in sets intended for the youngest.
There is no escaping the traditional sheet of stickers with about fifteen stickers to apply so that Obi-Wan's ship benefits from a satisfactory level of detail. Did this children's toy need so many stickers? Nothing is less certain: with barely more than a hundred assembly steps, we stick a sticker every ten pages.
As for the figurines delivered in this box, we obtain Obi-Wan Kenobi, the astromech droid R4-P17 and the Kaminoan star of the product, Taun We. We remember the first appearance of this character in Episode II (Attack of the Clones), he ended his career shot dead by Fennec Shand in the ninth episode of the first season of the animated series The Bad Batch.
LEGO does it pretty well by representing this character with an atypical physique without making it an irrelevant figurine that would no longer really use the codes of the usual minifigs. The result seems to me to be a good compromise both on the interpretation of the appearance of the creature and its size. The present pad printings are more than up to what one could expect, Taun We's head is made of hard plastic and it is attached to the character's long neck.
Obi-Wan Kenobi's minifig is new from head to toe with very correct pad printing. No problem matching the color between the torso and the head of the character, LEGO dresses Obi-Wan close to the neck. the tunic is nicely represented and the manufacturer delivers a head of hair and a hood to be used according to the chosen face. The outfit, although less contrasted than on the official retouched visuals, is both in line with that seen on screen in Episode II and with that present in the video game. The Skywalker Saga. Everyone will be happy.
The astromech droid R4-P17, which we had lost sight of since 2016, returns here in a rather successful updated version even if LEGO does not give it a pad printing on both sides of the cylinder as was the case more early in the year for R2-D2 in sets 75330 Dagobah Jedi Training et 75339 Death Star Trash Compactor. It's a bit of a shame knowing that we have already had two fairly similar versions of this droid in the past and that this new box was an opportunity to innovate a little.
On arrival, I think that this Jedi Starfigher is not demerit with a toy that seems very correct to me considering the reduced inventory and three very successful figurines. The public price of the product is undoubtedly a little high, but Amazon and a few others will quickly take care of offering it to us at a more attractive price.
Note: The set presented here, provided by LEGO, is as usual involved. Deadline fixed at July 8, 2022 next at 23:59 p.m. Just post a comment under the article to participate.
