What better place than the premises of the Parisian brand Le Bon Marché (24, rue de Sèvres, 75007 Paris) to exclusively present the highly anticipated next LEGO Architecture set whose marketing is announced for January 2014: The Eiffel Tower (Reference LEGO 21019).
From November 1, a reproduction of more than 40.000 pieces of the Eiffel Tower from the set will be exhibited on site and the brand will have the exclusivity of the set as soon as it becomes available.
It will be possible to reserve this set of 321 pieces, sold for € 45 from November 1, with a preview sale from December 2 to 14 (See the Bon Marché brochure in pdf).
This is not the first time that Le Bon Marché has welcomed LEGO models: During the summer of 2011, an exhibition bringing together many sets from the LEGO Architecture range accompanied by large-format versions had already taken place in the premises of the department store.
This will probably be the first and only set in the Architecture range that I will afford.
(Thank you to everyone who sent me the document by email, in the comments or via facebook)
The rumor that i was talking to you a few weeks ago has just been confirmed by the "accidental" uploading of the box above: The next set of the Architecture range (21021) will be the magnificent Marina Bay Sands hotel complex located in Singapore.
This building had won the annual competition organized by LEGO "Vote & Inspire Us".
We therefore have to discover the Eiffel Tower in Architecture sauce, also announced by the same rumor ...
Accuracy: The image above is a homemade assembly, to make you forget that the visual of the set is really small ...
... if LEGO put a little of its own and decided to offer us something other than ships ...
I'm not really a fan of LDD MOCs (Lego digital designer), I think I've written it here a good half-dozen times already. But this project initiated by ADHO15 is interesting in more ways than one. First of all, his Jedi Temple is a real success on this scale. Nothing to say, it's perfect. But behind this idea, another should be able to gain ground: What if LEGO offered some iconic buildings from the Star Wars universe in the same spirit as those of the current Architecture range?
The potential is enormous: Cloud City, Mos Eisley's cantina, Jabba's lair, Yavin IV base, etc ... And an Architecture / Star Wars range would certainly be a hit with fans. It would complete a range made up almost exclusively of vessels and collectors would certainly be interested in a mini-collection of emblematic places of the saga on a micro or mini scale.
For now, this virtual MOC is a Cuusoo project. It is not the only one in this spirit, but this one is very accomplished visually. Other views of this building are available in MOCeur's BrickShelf gallery and he even offers the file in .lxf format of its creation.
Edit: 3D rendering of the image was performed by bobsy26 (see his flickr gallery) according to the file of ADH015.
