I had the helmet from the LEGO Editions set 43024 Ayrton Senna Helmet on hand and I thought I absolutely had to try the modification that could make it more believable.

So I ordered the set of stickers that you can currently find all over the internet via sponsored posts by the seller and after spending €12,80 including shipping and waiting a good two weeks, I finally received the small sheet of stickers which allows you to modify both the large helmet and that of the minifig.

Upon unpacking, I was a little disappointed: the actual product (right below) doesn't live up to the photo used (left below) by the retailer to promote these stickers. The resolution is rather low, the colors are dull, and the promised precise cut to align perfectly with the white piece is barely adequate. You can also feel the ink texture when you run your finger over the Marlboro logo; it's nothing like the official stickers.

However, there is one good idea: the stickers are printed on a transparent background, which avoids any color variations with the white piece. On the other hand, this transparent background is rather thin and easily distorts during application.

I still applied the two stickers to the large helmet just to see how it looked. The result seems quite acceptable from a distance, despite the poor technical quality of the stickers. Was it really necessary to spend €12,80 on them? For this test, probably yes, but if I were to do it for a personal helmet, I'm not so sure. Or perhaps I would look for a higher-quality solution than the one I chose based on the promotional image provided.

Today we are taking a very quick look at the contents of the LEGO Editions 43024 Ayrton Senna Helmet set , a box of 931 pieces available from September 1st at a public price of €89,99 on the official online store and for a little less elsewhere.

This is already the fifth helmet in this range of licensed products launched in May 2026 and as with the other sets, LEGO provides a minifigure of the pilot in question.

This is the first time I've held one of these helmets in my hands and I was curious to see what "experience" this product would offer me and how I would approach the aesthetic result.

Assembling the product is a real chore, and even though the techniques used are clearly geared towards the final result, it feels more like a frustrating challenge than a fun, relaxing activity. One can marvel at the sheer number of complex and sometimes surprising sub-assemblies, but in my opinion, the final product doesn't really live up to the complexity of the assembly process.

The model shown here is inspired by the helmet worn by Ayrton Senna in 1988, the year of his first Formula 1 World Championship title. Its shape is therefore somewhat different from the more recent helmets offered elsewhere in this range. While the helmet looks reasonably accurate from the front and three-quarter views, the back is a different story, with two unsightly bulges and several rather imprecise adjustments.

This helmet is obviously designed to be displayed from the front or at most from the side, but I really get the impression that the back has been left neglected or that the designer never found the right solution for this section of the construction.

Otherwise, I find the overall finish very poor, even for a LEGO product, with sections that need to be properly repositioned after the slightest movement and stickers that don't do justice to a product costing €90. On the plus side, the stickers are provided in duplicate, so you can replace them when they start to peel off the helmet visor.

LEGO deliberately omits the main sponsor of the McLaren-Honda team: the tobacco company Marlboro (Philip Morris). Whatever the legal or moral argument used to justify the absence of the logo, the car's authenticity suffers with this large white space that ultimately represents very little.

As for the pad-printed elements, there are numerous misalignments of the prints, and we know this range of headphones often suffers from this problem. The effect is most visible on the back of the headphones, with both horizontal and vertical misalignments on the colored bands that run around the perimeter.

The subject matter is complex, and in my opinion, LEGO's handling of it is only moderately successful, though the model will still look convincing from a distance. Up close, it's too messy for me, with too many empty spaces and a very rough finish.

The included figure somewhat redeems the set with its attractive printing and double-sided head, but it alone doesn't justify spending €90 on this box. The effect of the open jumpsuit falls a bit flat, as the design doesn't extend beyond the figure's hips at the front and the lower torso at the back. It's a shame the Nacional sponsor logo isn't on the cap; the logo is only vaguely represented by the white band.

I know that Formula 1 fans will be perfectly happy with this model, which they'll display alongside their other helmets; it's a decorative piece, and Ayrton Senna is an iconic champion of the sport. For me, however, this product has definitively convinced me that it's not for me. I like LEGO products too much to find it appealing, and I don't like Formula 1 enough to consider it essential.

LEGO had everything planned: the manufacturer is marketing from today a limited edition of the LEGO Editions 43020 FIFA World Cup Official Trophy set (2842 pieces - €179,99) under the reference LEGO Editions 4000351 FIFA World Cup Official Trophy – Champions Edition.

This variant of the original set includes three extra pieces, bringing the total to 2845 elements and several references to Spain's victory in the 2026 Football World Cup.

The key detail to remember is that the retail price of the product has increased to €199,99.

The other detail: this set, currently available for pre-order on the official online store and set to launch on October 1st, 2026, will only be available in Spain. LEGO now has time to print the necessary elements and packaging to adapt the product to celebrate Spain's victory. Clever.

LEGO today unveiled a handful of sets from the LEGO Editions range, the result of a collaboration between the manufacturer and American singer Olivia Rodrigo. The lineup includes five products celebrating the singer, including a bouquet that allows for a crossover between the LEGO Editions and BOTANICALS ranges, which should undoubtedly appeal to fans.
