LEGO IDEAS: some adjustments in the rules for submitting ideas

It's not a revolution, but the rules for participating on the LEGO IDEAS platform are evolving with some notable adjustments that all those who plan to propose their ideas there will now have to respect.

The maximum number of pieces that can be used on a single project has now increased from 3000 to 5000 elements, opening the door to ever larger (and potentially more expensive) constructions, ideas with fewer than 200 pieces will no longer be accepted and a ratio of number of pieces / quantity of minifigs is not binding. is introduced, with for example a recommended number of 3 figurines for an idea composed of 200 to 400 elements or 14 figurines for a construction of 4501 to 5000 pieces. Exceptions will be made, these rules can be broken if the subject requires it and in all cases it is obviously LEGO who decides.

If you had a project of more than 3000 pieces in your files that did not pass the barrier of the submission form until now, you can try to present it again. We are impatiently waiting for the dozens of castles, stations and others Modulars or improbable dioramas that will not fail to invade the platform now that the floodgates are open.

It's hard to know exactly why LEGO is increasing the usable inventory limit, given that the largest builds are currently on Bricklink as part of the Bricklink Designer Program. Unless LEGO feels they are missing out on some potential sets and want to repatriate some of these projects to the LEGO Ideas platform rather than letting them exist within a secondary program that is much less visible to the general public.
