It is today's initiative on the LEGO IDEAS platform with the creation of what the manufacturer will now call the "Parking Lot" or more simply the parking lot. The idea is to store ideas that deserve to be studied but which for one reason or another cannot be studied within the usual time frame.
This solution will allow in particular to keep ideas that are a priori interesting up your sleeve by putting them on hold so that they do not collide with others during a given review phase. We can also imagine that the initiative will allow, for example, to initiate discussions with the rights holders of a specific license before definitively validating an idea that seems promising on paper.
LEGO confirms that in the past, some ideas have been rejected outright during the relevant review phase due to timing issues and that the idea holders then had to resubmit them and reach the required 10.000 backers threshold a second time in order to be able to go back into the evaluation phase.
The "parking lot" designed by the manufacturer will make it possible to avoid this step and to put the ideas concerned on hold. LEGO also promises that this parking lot will never be overbooked and that the ideas stored there will be subject to a final decision over a maximum period of three successive review phases.
For the rest, nothing changes, the process of evaluating ideas that have reached 10.000 supporters remains the same.
LEGO has unveiled the visual of the promotional product that will be offered to buyers of the LEGO IDEAS set. 21356 River Steamboat (€329,99) from April 7 to 13, 2025, this is the reference 5009157 Amelia Ticket Booth which, at the time of writing, is not yet online in the French version of the Shop.
This small box of 152 pieces valued by the manufacturer at €19,99 will allow you to expand the staging of the big boat that has clearly become a tourist attraction by assembling a ticket office with its jetty. LEGO promises us that inside the construction there is a museum of river boats with a small model of a river boat and a microfig. The two patterned elements delivered in this box should be pad printed.
Nothing crazy, but anyone who makes the effort to spend their money at LEGO during the relevant period will probably be happy to be able to get a little extra product to go with the main build.
LEGO today unveils a new addition to the IDEAS range, the benchmark 21356 River Steamboat with its 4090 pieces, its public price set at €329,99 and its availability date announced for April 7, 2025 as an Insiders preview before a global marketing which will take place from April 10, 2025.
This product is inspired by the idea called Western River Steamboat submitted in its time on the LEGO IDEAS platform by Aaron Hall aka CTDpower and LEGO has clearly this time really respected the fan designer's intention. This big Structure floating (which does not float) will offer removable sections to enjoy the interior, a paddle wheel connected to the steam engine as well as a rudder controlled from the helm of the boat. All is to be installed on a support provided to be displayed on the chest of drawers in the living room.
Those who fall for this box between April 7 and 13, 2025 will be offered a copy of the promotional set 5009157 The LEGO Amelia Ticket Booth, a small box of 152 pieces that will allow you to assemble a ticket purchase counter.
It's time for the launch of a very large handful of new products on the official LEGO online store with something to satisfy many categories of fans. Among all the new sets available, the Speed Champions products under Formula 1 license are finally on the shelves, there are also some single-seaters in the ICONS and Technic ranges, a helmet from the Star Wars range, a Knight Bus at Harry Potter, a LEGO Horizon set, Minecraft, two BrickHeadz figurines under Transformers license, some Disney products and the new expansion of the city of NINJAGO CITY.
As usual, it's up to you to decide whether to jump right in and pay the full price for these sets or whether to be a little patient and wait for the inevitable discounts that will be offered in the weeks and months to come. at Amazon, on FNAC.com, at Cdiscount, at Auchan as well as some other retailers.
It should also be noted that the LEGO Speed Champions pack 66802 Ultimate Formula 1 Collector's Pack is indeed an Amazon US exclusive and you will therefore have to be content to buy the different single-seaters individually.

It is via the service dedicated to instructions LEGO products that we get the first visual of an Insiders reward which should logically be available in March 2025.
This is the set with the reference 40786 Micro Command Center, a product freely inspired by the winning creation from a contest organized on the LEGO IDEAS platform. The final version is much less ambitious than the initial proposal, but fans of Classic Space and monorail should still find something to like, for want of anything better.
We do not yet know the number of points that will have to be exchanged to be offered this little box, this box not yet being referenced on the reward.
