The set had been ready for a long time at the time of official announcement by LEGO a few weeks ago the results of the review phase in which he participated. Here are the official visuals of the new LEGO Ideas set: 21301 Birds.
We have much debated here of the interest of this box and I think these new images will not change the opinion of everyone on this subject.
However, I note that this set has become in passing through the hands of the LEGO designers (and the manufacturer's marketing department) a superb gift to offer thanks in particular to the visually very attractive packaging.
In the box, 580 pieces to assemble the three birds above with their display (and the Latin name of each species) and a booklet containing a lot of information on the species represented: A hummingbird, a robin and a blue jay
This box will be available from the beginning of January 2015 for the modest sum of $ 44.99 (US public price). The public price in € has not yet been confirmed and the set is not online on the French LEGO Shop as of this writing.
If you want to know more about Tom "DeTomaso"Poulson, the creator of the LEGO Ideas project that serves as the basis for this box, he answers a few questions about the official LEGO Ideas blog.
When a LEGO Ideas project is both very well thought out and superbly staged, it deserves our attention and why not our support.
This is the case of the project "Red Skull's Flying-Wing Chase"initiated by ArtGONG. The whole has a nice official set look with the Roadster from the Hydra, Colonel Chester Phillips, SSR agent Peggy Carter, the flying wing piloted by Red Skull and Captain America ... Everything is directly inspired by the film Captain America: First Avenger.
The work provided by ArtGONG on the presentation of its creation obviously contributes to the enhancement of the project and makes us intelligently switch to the desire to add this set to our collections.
I supported this project, even if I am not kidding myself and I strongly encourage you to take a look. at this address even if it's just for your viewing pleasure.
The Green Hornet is a movie that I loved and the lego ideas project presented by Skyrunner42 which is inspired by it logically attracted all my attention.
Reviews of Michel Gondry's film, released in 2011 and worn by Seth Rogen (Britt Reid/Green Hornet), Jay Chou (Kato), Cameron Diaz (Lenore) and Christopher Waltz (Chudnofsky), are very divided, but getting Reid and Kato's minifigs would be enough for me to be happy. If in addition in the box there is the Black Beauty of the film, a copy of Daily Sentinel and some bad guys to kill, I take ...
Technically, this project seems realistic to me, it has obviously been designed to stick as closely as possible to what has already been done in the LEGO Ideas range (Compromise on the number of pieces + number of minifigs + resulting potential public price).
I know that this film was released a long time ago and that the news around Green Hornet is close to nothing, but nothing prevents you from supporting this LEGO Ideas project which would allow us to add two heroes who deserve a conversion into minifig to our collections. And at the same time, if you haven't seen this movie yet, it's never too late to do well.
The results of the first phase of the 2014 review have just been released:
Two sets, just that. Exit theApple Store and Jules Verne Train de Back to the Future.
The two projects that will be marketed soon are the Lego bird project and the set Big Bang Theory.
Project Big Bang Theory was proposed by Ellen Kooijman alias Alatariel, who is also the creator of the LEGO Ideas set 21110 Research Institute. Without getting too wet, we can predict an almost instantaneous out of stock on this box as soon as it is marketed ...
The two projects around the license Doctor Who remain under evaluation.
I look forward to your reaction to these decisions ...
The results of the second review phase for 2014, which includes the eight projects below, are expected for January 2015:
Promise kept: LEGO announced that the set LEGO Ideas 21109 Exo Suit would be back in stock at the start of the school year and it is.
Don't be fooled by the dozens of ads eBay sellers ou at amazon who describe this product as an exclusive to the ultra-limited edition long out of print, there is currently stock at LEGO at the "normal" price of € 34.99 and there is always time to order your copy if you really want to get this box .
