21108 LEGO® Ghostbusters ™

Here are the first official images of LEGO's interpretation of the ghostbusters project by Brent Waller on Cuusoo which has successfully passed the last phase of review and which will therefore join the DeLorean of set 21103 in the department of sets presenting emblematic vehicles of the cinema.

But unlike the Back to the Future set, which I find a bit cramped, this ectomobile seems rather successful to me ...

This set of 508 pieces including the Ecto-1 and the four ghost hunters (Peter Venkman, Raymond Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore) will be available in June 2014 at a price of 49.99 $ (USA) so a priori 49.99 € with us. No Slimer.

More information on the LEGO Cuusoo blog.

The set is also presented on the LEGO stand during the New York Toy Fair, you can see some pictures of the Ectomobile and the 4 minifigs in toyark.com's gallery.

LEGO CUUSOO # 007: Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary

The results of the last phase of the review of the Cuusoo projects which reached 10.000 supporters have fallen and the only surviving project is that of Brent Waller: Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary. So there will be a ectomobile made from LEGO by this summer on the shelves of the LEGO Shop and the LEGO Stores.

There were two Ghostbusters-themed projects up for grabs during this review phase, and the LEGO Cuusoo team ultimately chose Brent Waller's one because the designers chose to take inspiration from his model of theectomobile rather than the one offered by TeeKay, whose the project goes by the wayside.

The problem will no longer arise in the future, in case of similar projects, a new rule of the Cuusoo program will allow the team in charge of project evaluation to keep only the one that reached the 10.000 supports first.

The fate of the project Female Minifigure Set remains in suspense, perhaps the time to find a justification for its possible rejection without offending certain susceptibilities ... A decision will be taken later on it.

Important clarification following the many emails received: LEGO will only produce the Ectomobile, not the building.

lol

LEGO has officially announced that all owners of the set 21103 The DeLorean Time Machine can get the replacement of Capacitor Flux containing a spelling error in the word SHIELD which had become SHEILD.

Simply contact customer service by email or on 00800 5346 5555 to obtain a replacement part:

"... It has come to our attention that one of the pieces in the new Back to the Future Time Machine set was printed with a spelling error on it. Text on the Flux Capacitor element reads "SHEILD EYES FROM LIGHT" instead of "SHIELD EYES FROM LIGHT". We're sorry for any disappointment caused by the oversight.

If your set includes a misprinted part, contact LEGO Customer Service to request a replacement with the correct spelling. Thanks for your patience and understanding ..."

LEGO Cuusoo results ...

You won't mind if I miss a bit of excitement regarding the announcement of the next official set from the LEGO Cuusoo project: It will be the turn of thePeter Reid's exo-suit to integrate the mini-range of sets which already includes a submarine, a satellite, a Minecraft set (21102) and the DeLorean from Back to the Future (21103) while waiting for Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover.

The image above is rather explicit concerning the fate of the various projects having reached the 10.000 supporters who were under study for many months: Everything else goes by the wayside without further explanation, with the exception of the project Land Rover Defender 110 here remains under study

Not enough to whip a cat with this exo-skeleton which will undoubtedly undergo the roping LEGO before being marketed, hoping it won't end up in a Hero Factory version ... It's a nice MOC, but my collection doesn't necessarily need.

All that for this...

LEGO Cuusoo - Reviews in progress

As a preamble, note that the Jurassic Park project initiated by senteosan was definitely buried despite its 6495 supporters: LEGO recalls that another brand holds the Jurassic Park license, in this case Hasbro with its KRE-O range.

Hasbro has in fact signed a licensing agreement with Universal around the new film in the franchise, Jurassic Park 4, due in summer 2014.
All remaining projects around the Jurassic Park license in the race on Cuusoo will be progressively "archived", understand withdrawn, as soon as they reach 1000 supporters.

As for the next phase of "Review", no less than 7 projects (See the image above). Apart from the project Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary presented by Brent Waller, I don't see much coming out of this fall review.

Most of the other projects in the running, the feminist "Battle Pack", the rather minimalist reproduction of the CERN ATLAS module or the inspired mini-ships from the game FTL: Faster Than Light, have reached 10.000 supporters thanks to the intensive lobbying of their creators and the buzz on social networks, but their content does not in my opinion deserve to go further.

On the sidelines of Cuusoo, we are currently talking a lot about the excellent work of Orion Pax on the license Masters of the Universe (The Masters of the Universe). Obviously, all those nostalgic for the animated series go there with their "Shut up and take my money"on Twitter and others, and hope that the buzz will be enough to make LEGO react in the right direction.

But it is wasted effort and for a very simple reason: It was Mattel who created from scratch Masters of the Universe license and there is absolutely no chance that LEGO will ever release a box containing Musclor (He-Man), She-ra and Skeletor ...

Mattel, to take advantage at the time of the general craze forHeroic-Fantasy and Conan the Barbarian, has also first launched a range of toys Masters of the Universe in 1981 before ordering in 1983 from the Filmation studio the advertising animated series that we (almost) all know.

That being said, Orion Pax has covered almost all of the content of the license and you can go to his site to discover every character, every device and even the Castle of Shadows (Castle Grayskull) in LEGO version (Click here).
