LEGO is communicating briefly today about the marketing of the Overwatch 2 set 76980 titanium by announcing that the availability of this video game derivative, initially scheduled for February 1, 2022, is postponed to a later date.
The reasons for this postponement which could also result in an outright withdrawal of the product: the multiple accusations of sexual abuse within the company Activision Blizzard which had led last November more than 150 employees to demonstrate in front of the headquarters of the editor to request an independent audit and the resignation of Bobby Kotick, the boss of the company. To these accusations is added a complaint lodged by an official Californian agency noting a culture of harassment and a salary policy that promotes inequalities between men and women within the company.
LEGO has therefore decided to reassess the relevance of its partnership with the publisher and will communicate its decision shortly:
We are currently reviewing our partnership with Activision Blizzard, given concerns about the progress being made to address continuing allegations regarding workplace culture, especially the treatment of female colleagues and creating a diverse and inclusive environment. While we complete the review, we will pause the release of a LEGO Overwatch 2 product which was due to go on sale on February 1, 2022. |
It is the italian version from the official LEGO catalog for the first half of 2022 which confirms it: the LEGO Overwatch 2 set 76980 titanium will be available from February 2022. This box of 901 pieces was briefly referenced by La Grande Récré in mid-December but the product sheet was quickly withdrawn. The sign then did not indicate any date of marketing of this novelty which should be sold at the public price of 79.99 €.
Overwatch® 2 action comes to life in LEGO® style with the incredible robot Titan (76980). This articulated model has many realistic functions including rockets and an energy weapon that ignites thanks to a bright brick LEGO®. Including minifigures of Overwatch heroines, Mei and Tracer with their weapons, it inspires exciting adventures and is proudly displayed next to any game console.
This set comes with step-by-step instructions for Overwatch fans new to LEGO building to build with confidence. Check out the free LEGO Life app, a safe platform for younger kids to show off their creations and share ideas with fellow fans. This children's toy is inspired by Overwatch 2, Blizzard Entertainment's popular action game that invites heroes around the world to team up to face threats from around the globe. |
Once is not customary, it's the sign La Grande Recre which unveils a novelty LEGO: The set Overwatch 2 76980 Titan (901 pieces) which is currently displayed as unavailable at a price of 81 €. The official product visuals are accompanied by a short description:

No official release date for the moment even if the rumor promises us availability in February 2022. Knowing that La Grande Récré often tends to inflate the prices a little, we can bet on a public price of 79.99 €.
Today we discover the official visuals of the two new sets expected for the re-entry into the LEGO Overwatch range: the references 75976 Wrecking Ball (227 pieces - $ 19.99) and 75977 Junkrat & Roadhog (380 pieces - $ 49.99) uploaded by Amazon UK.
Even though these two boxes seem pretty successful, it will be without me like the previous game-based sets and they arrived much too late anyway for me to really care.
The (really) official announcement of the LEGO Overwatch sets having finally taken place, LEGO has logically added the six sets planned to its catalog with some additional visuals for each of them.
The first visuals of these boxes were unveiled a few days ago, so all we needed was the public prices which are now known:
|
It will be without me except perhaps for the set 75974 Bastion, which I will take for its modularity. For the rest and despite the fairly exceptional line-up of minifigs, I'm not a big fan of the game and I will survive without the other boxes.
According to the category presentation banner, these sets can soon be pre-ordered with delivery announced from January 1, 2019.
