Let's take a look at some promotional offers that are valid on the official online store from today until at least August 20, 2026, with a set from the Restaurants of the World collection and a LEGO Pokémon paperbag, both offered with purchase conditions and without range restrictions, as well as a modest doubling of Insiders points on four references from the LEGO ONE PIECE range:

They are unstoppable: the SMART Play ecosystem continues to expand with some promotional products which are intended to attract new customers to this range of sets and LEGO is currently offering some paperbags (polybags but made of paper) which allow you to obtain...a SMART Tag.

The object which is intended to work in association with the SMART Brick is therefore useless as it stands since the information it contains and which it can deliver via the reading of the NFC chip embedded in the plastic piece can only be read by the smart brick available only in a few sets which are a bit expensive for what they have to offer.

These gift bags are being offered as part of various promotional campaigns organized by LEGO until September 30, 2026, including one linked to the Pokémon Go app , which allows users to unlock in-game rewards. The most adventurous can attend a SMART Play technology demonstration at their local LEGO Store and leave with a coveted gift bag.

This is the art of loss leader marketing taken to the extreme.

If you have children, you can now register them for a free one-hour workshop offered in LEGO Stores which will allow them to " become a real LEGO Pokémon Trainer and practice making other participants battle " and leave with a free SMART Tag holder in the shape of a Poké Ball.

Please note, adults not accompanied by at least one child cannot participate in this workshop.

You need to book in advance to participate in this workshop; I'm not even sure if there are any places left since it's free. Check quickly if your local LEGO Store still has places available for the scheduled dates: August 11, 12, 18, and 19, 2026.

This offer only applies to LEGO Stores directly managed by LEGO, not to franchised Certified Stores managed by Percassi.

The LEGO Insiders 40911 Mini Pokémon Center reward is available again on the rewards center and you need to part with 2500 of your precious points, the equivalent of about €16 in value, to obtain the one-time-use code that you will need to use when placing a future order on the official online store.

A quick reminder: after redeeming your points, you will receive a unique code valid for 60 days from its issue date. You will need to enter this code in the "Add a promotional code" field in your shopping cart during a future order to have the product added to your purchase.

Anyone who lamented LEGO's treatment of the Pokémon license solely as a children's toy and through the integration of the "revolutionary" SMART Play ecosystem will have to reconsider. LEGO will release five sets in August and October 2026 whose sole purpose seems to be to gather dust on fans' shelves at the end of their lifespan. And there are even minifigures and figurines, something everyone has been complaining about for months.
