LEGO Star Wars 75402 ARC-170 Starfighter: Cockpit Canopies Element Change

LEGO recently quietly changed the appearance of the set's ship 75402 ARC-170 Starfighter, a box of 497 pieces available since January 1, 2025 at the public price of €69,99.

In fact, the three cockpit canopies initially marketed in Trans Black are now delivered completely transparent. The manufacturer obviously does not communicate on this modification, so it is difficult to know why this element, present in three copies in the box, was replaced.

We remember that the stickers used for the canopies had difficulty in visually matching the off-white color of the parts forming the ship's hull; we can see here a possible reason which justifies this change of element.

The color discrepancy problem won't be solved, but it will obviously be much less obvious. LEGO still seems to have trouble providing stickers in the right color, and this change of element in an attempt to mask this chronic inability almost sounds like a confirmation of the manufacturer's impotence in this area.
