Because there is more than just Star Wars in life, this October 1st is also an opportunity for LEGO to market some new products in various universes including the very successful LEGO Ideas set 21343 Viking Village (€139.99) which I spoke to you about in detail a few days ago in a dedicated review. This set was on pre-order until now, it is now available in stock at LEGO.

As usual, it's up to you to decide whether to give in without delay by paying full price for these boxes or whether to show a little patience and wait for the inevitable reductions that will be offered in the weeks and months to come at Amazon, on FNAC.com, at Cdiscount, at Auchan and at a few other resellers.

Today we take a very quick tour of the content of the LEGO Marvel set 76249 Venomized Groot, a box of 630 pieces sold since August 1 at the public price of €52.99 on the official store and in the LEGO Stores.

To put this product in context, know that it is inspired by the third season of the animated series Marvel's Spider-ManEntitled Maximum Venom and broadcast in particular on the Disney + platform and not from the series of animated short films entitled I am Big also available on the Disney + platform as I have sometimes read. The character in question here is therefore a “venomized” version of Groot, the reference visual of which you will find below:

If you have the construction of the LEGO Marvel set on hand 76217 I am Groot (476 pieces - €49.99), you will undoubtedly find something to fill your shelves a little more with this new figurine, perfectly in line with the one marketed since summer 2022. The two figurines are in fact identical in their construction and there is no only the “venomization” of the 2023 version to bring some logical aesthetic variations.

It's visually a little messy in places, the head is a little fragile even if the figurine is stable on its supports, we don't escape the usual Ball Seals gray which stand out at the joints and there is a relatively large sheet of stickers associated with the inventory provided. There are still a few pad-printed parts in the box with the character's single eye and the row of teeth a little less white in real life than on the official product visuals.

Bonus delivered directly in the box: the possibility of completely "venomizing" the character using the last bag which includes the black and white parts necessary for the ultimate transformation of the figurine. It's a good idea even if this possibility obviously encourages you to purchase a second copy of the product to be able to have both versions at the same time and display the three figurines side by side to obtain a coherent whole. You will then be left with a large handful of unused coins as a bonus.

Please note, the total transformation of Groot into Venom is not documented in the instruction booklet in paper version and you will absolutely have to use the LEGO Builder application (iOS version ou android version) dedicated to instructions in digital format. It's a bit petty, all it took was a few additional pages like the sets in the LEGO DREAMZzz range to be able to take advantage of all the possibilities of the product without having to use a smartphone or tablet.

There is no point in dwelling on the subject, it's almost cute, the partial "venomization" is rather well executed and the figurine can possibly take some interesting poses.

Displayed alone, it will not have as much effect as in the company of the two other existing versions, but LEGO has followed through on the ideas and absolute fans of the character will inevitably find what they are looking for. You must therefore consider paying the modest sum of €155.97 to be able to have the collection bringing together the three variants of the character, this is the (high) price to pay to follow LEGO in its logic and impress your friends.

The September 2023 issue of the official LEGO Batman magazine is currently available on newsstands at the price of €6.99 and as expected it allows us to obtain a 44-piece micro Batwing in its paper bag.

In the pages of this magazine, we discover the minifig which will accompany the next issue scheduled for December 15: this is the Batman figurine with his rigid cape already seen in the DC set 76252 Batcave Shadow Box as well as in the polybag 30653 Batman 1992.

Today we are very quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Marvel set 76263 Iron Man Hulkbuster vs. Thanos, a small box of 66 pieces stamped 4+ which is available at the public price of €26.99 since August 1, 2023. You read correctly, you have to pay €26.99 to afford this set whose inventory is assembled in less than 2 minutes and which only contains two minifigs.

As this is a product intended for the youngest LEGO fans, the construction effort here also boils down to assembling a few elements including a handful of meta-parts which form what is presented to us as a Hulkbuster of a side and Thanos' "plane" on the other. Everything is aimed at children aged 4 and over who are Marvel fans, a whole program.

Taking into account the inventory provided, the Hulkbuster with the red hands of the Hulk does not stand out or very little: it is the right color, it has several points of articulation even if it remains rigid at the knees and legs. elbows and it benefits from two nicely pad-printed pieces, this type of set targeting young audiences being delivered without stickers.

The two padprints are new and for the moment exclusive to this box. The thing that serves as Thanos' vessel and is of no aesthetic interest, it is only there to have a little fun by destroying the Hulkbuster using the two flick fire missiles and disc shooter integrated into the construction.

I don't know if children will really have fun with this product, but I know that adults will find what they're looking for with a completely new minifig and for the moment exclusive to this box, that of Iron Man. Difficult to know which version of the armor this figurine is inspired by, it seems to me that it is very close to one of those in version Classic marketed by the manufacturer Hot Toys under the label The Origins Collection. The pad printing is very clean and the use of the one-piece helmet without a movable visor contributes to the vintage look of the armor even if the part was undoubtedly chosen because of the very young target audience for this product.

The Thanos figurine with the slightly sad legs is not new, however, the torso is also delivered in the set 76242 Thanos Mech Armor (€14.99) since the start of the year.

In short, this box is neither a good deal nor a product that offers a memorable construction experience but it has less merit in being able to enjoy it with the family: while the youngest has fun with his red robot with slightly articulated joints. stiff, you discreetly steal the new Iron Man minifigure and replace it with a more common version. Everyone benefits, no one is harmed. It's actually not worth paying €27 for this little box, it is already available cheaper elsewhere, for example at Amazon:
