The Simpsons have already been to LEGOLAND, or rather to LEGO LAND, even if the park in question is a cover for toxic waste illegally buried by Mr. Burns ... The constructions on display behave very strangely in this park. ..
We find this park in two episodes of the animated series: the 15th episode of the 14th season as well as the 16th episode of the 20th season.
There is also another theme park largely inspired by the LEGO universe, the BLOCKOLAND seen in episode 15 of season 12. This park is based on the BLOCKO brand, a parody of LEGO which makes many appearances in the series, especially during E4, the great convention dedicated to video games in Springfield.
Long before we even started talking about the possible possibility of a LEGO The Simpsons license, fans were having a blast with many more or less successful creations.
Evidenced by this superb donut offered by TheBrickMan in 2012 and reproducing the one seen in the poster for The Simpsons Movie released in 2007.
We will also remember that the LEGOs have already appeared in the series during episode 3 of the 19th season. The proof in picture with this capture taken from the credits.
flickr is full of MOCs inspired by the animated series and its characters, a simple search will allow you to take a tour among the many creations proposed by the fans.
If you follow closely what is happening on Cuusoo, you will have noticed that all the projects featuring The Simpsons license have been deleted with the explanatory note: "Project Deleted - This project has been removed for not following the Guidelines."
Most of them were just a reflection of claims made by fans of the animated series, but the most comprehensive project, represented by the visual above, was initiated in 2012 and provided for a whole range. minifigs, sets, etc ...
Being acquired since today that LEGO will market in 2014 a range centered around Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and the others, it is thus logical that the Cuusoo projects begging with great reinforcements of visuals tampered with a place for Springfield and its inhabitants in the LEGO assortment goes by the wayside ...
For posterity, I offer you below some of the visuals from this late Cuusoo project.
This is the Danish newspaper dr.dk which confirms the information I told you about on Hoth Bricks few months ago : The Simpsons are coming to LEGO!
Mads Nipper, LEGO Marketing Director, had all but confirmed the partnership with 20th Century Fox Television in March 2013, but it took several more months for the rumor to become reality.
Still according to Mads Nipper, the launch of this new range will be prudent, no doubt with small sets in very limited numbers, or even characters sold alone.
Depending on customer response, LEGO may consider developing a full line around the characters and their worlds.
No other information for the moment, but the 2014 retailer catalog does indeed integrate this new range, some privileged people have been able to discover the preliminary visuals.
