Some Star Trek fans may have been left wanting more when the LEGO ICONS set was released. 10356 Star Trek: USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D In November 2025, this large box of 3600 pieces, sold at a retail price of €379,99, is based on the series Star Trek: The Next Generation broadcast from 1987 in the USA and from 1996 in France.
Those hoping to get a version based on the 1966 series with Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock were therefore disappointed, as LEGO chose to go back less far and capitalize on the nostalgia of a more recent generation of fans.
A recent rumor circulating through the usual channels suggests that LEGO may finally be looking into the so-called "original" series with William Shatner as Captain James T. Kirk and Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock.
Nothing concrete yet, but it could potentially be a slightly less ambitious product than the one currently available, perhaps featuring a replica of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701's bridge and a handful of minifigures. If LEGO were to decide to go down this path, we could reasonably expect to get minifigures of Kirk, Spock, Uhura, Sulu, and Chekov, all of whom appear in the ship's cockpit on screen.
This new product, which would be available from this summer, would be sold in the LEGO ICONS range under a reference of the type 113XX.
As usual, this is just a rumor and associated assumptions on my part; we will have to wait to find out more from LEGO.
