You probably already know that the WLWYB sign (We Love What You Build) has had some success through the creation and marketing of different versions of its "Lego Periodic Table" and the idea is now being developed in a new form with the staging of LEGO elements on a map of the London Underground. Announced like that, it's not enough to get up at night, but this new product, designed to attract a clientele of fans who want to display original products, seems rather successful to me.

The usual 40 x 30 cm format is once again used here with the same soft plastic base equipped with a hook on the back, the pattern which serves as the basis for highlighting the 1x1 LEGO pieces is carefully printed and the arrangement of the pieces roughly corresponds to the colour of the metro line concerned.

Once again, we get here a style exercise that is neither exhaustive nor encyclopedic, it is just a question of staging pieces on an original motif with a lifestyle objective. The presentation here is logically more refined than that of the "Lego Periodic Table"and the less universal subject will perhaps appeal to fewer people.

Also note that the first 2000 copies of this new creation are numbered. The product will not become an ultra-collector's item, but it is a finishing touch that some fans will appreciate.

WLWYB is selling the thing for $49.95 including shipping and the product arrives well packaged in a dedicated carton with internal bubble wrap protection. It is possible to hang it on the wall via the folding hook glued to the back but I think that it will then possibly be necessary to consider placing it in a frame deep enough to accommodate this painting whose thickness reaches 1.5 cm. There must be a suitable framework at IKEA or elsewhere.

If you would like to offer yourself a copy of this "Metro Network of the LEGO Colors" or to prepare a birthday by making sure that the beneficiary will not already have the gift you wanted to give him, know that WLWYB has provided me with a code that allows you to get 10% off, you just have to enter the code HOTHBRICKS at checkout to benefit from it and pay the whole $44.95 including postage. It's always taken.
