Iceflake Studios and Paradox Interactive today unveiled an officially licensed LEGO video game, LEGO Skylines , set to be released in 2027. As you might have guessed, it's a LEGO-themed adaptation of the popular city-building game Cities: Skylines.
From what we can see of the game in the trailer below, it's visually very polished. It remains to be seen how the building mechanics and user interface will perform in this adaptation, which is a bit less serious than Cities: Skylines and will also need to appeal to younger players.
The game will be available on PC via STEAM, on XBOX Series X|S, on PS5 and on Nintendo Switch 2. No precise release date yet.
| Build a city where everything fits together perfectly
Create a city like no other in LEGO® Skylines. A city-building game you can play for five minutes and then suddenly it's the next day. Seriously, it happens. Create whatever you can imagine or get lost in the details. What happens next is up to you. Make it beautiful. Make it original. Make it your own. Think about basic needs, like electricity, food, and water. Then make sure your citizens love this place. Provide them with housing that surpasses their neighbors'. Good jobs. Great parks. Donut shops on every corner, because that would be awesome. With an incredible number of buildings, decorations, and other cool features (to your liking), you'll have no trouble creating a city that clearly bears your mark. In LEGO Skylines, you decide… well, everything. Don't forget the hospitals, which keep everyone healthy. The wheat flour for doughnuts. The garbage collection, the sewers, and everything else that keeps a city running. It's up to you how it all fits together. So, put on your hard hat and give the green light to your wildest ideas. Make as many changes as you like. And just enjoy the game. What a satisfaction it is to be able to place everything exactly where you want it. That is, in its proper place, of course. |
