New LEGO Harry Potter 2025: the 76450 Book Nook: Hogwarts Express set is online in the Shop

LEGO today unveils a new reference in the LEGO Harry Potter range: the set 76450 Book Nook: Hogwarts Express with its 832 pieces, its Harry Potter and Ron Weasley minifigs and its public price set at €99,99. The product will be available from June 1, 2025 and it takes up the principle of the very popular format which features miniature dioramas to be placed between the books stored on the shelves of a library.

As for the LEGO ICONS set 10351 Sherlock Holmes Book Nook, LEGO once again misses the point a little here. While the diorama closes on itself so that it can be installed between two books in a library, the manufacturer nevertheless overlooks one of the major characteristics of the format: the essential lighting that allows the internal arrangements to be highlighted and creates a particular atmosphere within the product.

LEGO simply incorporates a transparent roof over the build, no doubt hoping that light will reach the product's details. I doubt it, and even if it did, the addition of carefully positioned lighting creates an ambiance that natural light simply doesn't.

LEGO does try to create a show by making the build look like a set of bookends, but I find it unconvincing and it's not a Book Nook in the literal sense of the word.
