bonn annee 2026 happy new year hothbricks

Fifteen years already! Time flies, and in 2026 we'll be entering the 15th year of this space dedicated to LEGO bricks. We'll celebrate this anniversary properly, but in the meantime, I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful 2026 filled with bricks, but also and above all, with the love of everyone around you.

Once again, I want to thank everyone who keeps this site alive by contributing comments and making it a space where all opinions are welcome. Thanks also to everyone who has helped other readers and to those who have shared their tips and experiences, good or bad. Some have come, gone, and returned later; everyone experiences LEGO in their own way, and there's something for everyone on the internet to satisfy every approach to this hobby that unites us. In any case, with over a million comments posted on the site since its creation, I think we form a community, a "big family," as I often jokingly call it, much to Chloé's dismay.

In 2026, I sincerely hope you will continue to regularly share your opinions, ideas, rants, and advice on this site. Without you, Hoth Bricks would ultimately be just another LEGO-related website, like the dozens that already exist, devoid of soul and interaction.

With Chloé, we will continue more than ever to share our opinions with you, entertain you with this topic that doesn't always deserve to be taken seriously, and offer you as many products as possible thanks to the support of our various partners, including LEGO, whom I thank once again for their unwavering support. As you know, we don't keep anything LEGO sends us, whether it's through the annual LAN giveaway, the various review offers we receive throughout the year, or the giveaways obtained through the service that manages the brand's affiliate program. Make no mistake, it's precisely because you are here and active that we can get so many products to offer you. Without you, none of this would be possible.

Those who know us know that this sharing is very important to us; it allows us to make some people happy throughout the year on the site, on social networks, or even on Twitch, and nothing replaces the satisfaction of receiving a kind thank-you message from those who trust us and who, for once, have been lucky.

The usual advice that all those who have been here a while probably know by heart by now: never sacrifice anything for a box of LEGO. Don't go into debt to buy LEGO, even if you sometimes look enviously at the "hauls" posted on social media showing off thousands of euros worth of LEGO in every video. Plastic isn't edible, and it doesn't resell for as much as some would have you believe, especially when you have to act quickly. If personal constraints force you to put this passion aside temporarily, don't worry, nothing is permanent, and you can always come back to it later. You will, of course, always be welcome on this site, which is intended to be a "safe place"for all those who just want to share their passion with other fans.

Take care of yourself and yours, enjoy your family and friends, the way you live your passion for LEGO should not isolate you, on the contrary it should allow you to meet other fans for share. I have the impression that this is my case, this site being the origin or the cause of some of my most beautiful encounters in recent years.

One last thing: Never forget that this passion should remain a bubble that allows you to escape. Don't waste too much time arguing with those who have a different vision than yours, and don't let them spoil what should remain your favorite hobby. Build, with LEGO, alternative brand toys, work within your budget, and above all, play.

With these kind words, Chloé and I wish you all an excellent 2026 filled with health and the desire to have fun for another year.

75436 lego starwars mandalorian grogu speeder bike review 1

Today we take a quick tour of the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75436 The Mandalorian & Grogu's Speeder Bike, a small box of 58 pieces which will be available from January 1, 2026 at the public price of €9,99.

This is the way LEGO Star Wars is being squeezed out of its product range, and after selling the two minifigures included in this set in more expensive products, LEGO is finally making them available for under €10. We're not going to complain about the format, even if I think everyone who wanted The Mandalorian and Grogu already has them in their collections for ages.

Essentially, this little product allows you to assemble Din Djarin's Speeder Bike, but the resulting vehicle is difficult for the minifigure to control, as their hands can't reach the controls. Don't imagine that simply tilting the minifigure's torso forward will solve the problem; the part actually hits the legs directly before the hands can reach the two controls. It's a shame for a product that offers nothing more than a very basic Speeder Bike.

Unsurprisingly, the two included figures are far from new: Grogu is identical to the version available since 2020, though it does appear to finally show some consistency between the color of his head and hands. The Mandalorian figure is the one available since 2023, with the head dating from 2022.

There's no need to say more; if you don't already have your Din Djarin and Grogu minifigures, this set lets you get them cheaply. Otherwise, the buildable Speeder Bike isn't even worth the €10 price tag; it's barely on par with a good free polybag or, at best, something you'd pay €3.99 for. This set should soon be available for around €8 at retailers other than LEGO.

76461 lego harry potter cornish pixie review 1

Today we are very quickly interested in the contents of the LEGO Harry Potter set 76461 Cornish Pixie, a box of 320 pieces currently available for pre-order on the official online store at a public price of €29,99 and which will be available from January 1, 2026.

Did the world really need a Cornish pixie figurine? That's debatable, even if Harry Potter fans would argue otherwise. To each their own burden, and while Star Wars and Marvel fans regularly have to deal with more or less acceptable creature models, LEGO Harry Potter fans will have to make do with this 24cm tall figurine, which supposedly represents the purple creatures released from their cage by Professor Gilderoy Lockhart during the Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson in the film. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Let's be honest, it's still very rough around the edges, both in form and substance. The figurine does have the slightly devilish look of these creatures, but the color of this Cornish pixie isn't quite right, and the very visible gray kneecaps don't help matters.

It's also worth noting that the knees are fixed, limiting the possible poses, and that the wings are perhaps a little too geometric, even though the four pieces used have a lovely purple sheen that perfectly suits the design. In any case, it's still better than soft, flexible plastic wings for the figure's durability over time.

The response will be that it's a LEGO product made with LEGO bricks, and therefore it's in the LEGO spirit. That's also what I tell myself when I'm building my Chewbacca or my Ewok; the power of positive thinking works perfectly in cases like these, and I know that many fans will accept it.

Don't rely too much on the colors shown in the product images on the official online store; this figure is a classic blue, not, as one might assume, a pastel blue or even a dark blue. In any case, it's not the right color unless my eyes are playing tricks on me: I see these creatures as purple in the film. To be fair to LEGO, the majority of various toy interpretations of this creature are blue.

On the plus side, the attractive sticker-covered book, the inkwell with its flowing ink, and the wand are all well-made and lend a touch of realism to the whole set. The transparent stand that suspends the figurine is clearly visible, but it was probably difficult to do otherwise, short of attaching the Cornish pixie to the book by at least one paw, thus depriving younger children of hours of fun with the figurine. Just kidding, of course; it's obvious no one will actually play with it, and this product is a novelty item. lifestyle more to exhibit.

It's also possible to display the figurine without its stand. It's quite stable on its supports, provided you find the right balance point. As is often the case, the finish on the back of the figurine is rather sloppy, so keep that in mind when arranging it on your shelves. For those wondering, the creature's eyes are pad-printed, and the result is well done.

In short, this is a spin-off product that isn't necessarily top-notch, but it offers something new and original, and should therefore easily find its audience among fans of the LEGO-style Harry Potter universe. The starting price is €30, so you can expect to find it for just over €20 very soon at retailers other than LEGO.
