As part of its partnership with NASA, LEGO is developing all kinds of educational, fun or event-based actions. The latest: Sending three minifigs to Jupiter.
These three minifigs made of aluminum represent the god Jupiter, his sister (and wife) Juno and the astronomer Galileo.

They are therefore fixed on the Juno spacecraft (see the photo below) which takes off this Friday, August 5, 2011 with the Atlas V rocket for a 5-year journey towards Jupiter with an arrival scheduled for July 2016.
This machine will remain in orbit around the planet for a year to collect various data which will then be used by NASA.

LEGO estimated the cost of designing and manufacturing each minifig at $ 5000, due in particular to the significant constraints related to any interference they could cause during measurement operations carried out by NASA on Jupiter.
Each minifig has been personalized: Jupiter holds lightning bolts in his hand, Juno holds a magnifying glass representing his quest for truth, and Galileo holds a telescope and a scaled-down version of the planet Jupiter.
These minifigs are unique models. There aren't any other copies, or secret prototypes found in a trash can by an AFOL that you could buy on eBay or Bricklink and there aren't any plastic versions out there yet anyway. All you can find can only be a pale copy of these minifigs that will become the furthest toys on earth by 2016.
We are counting on LEGO to soon release a collector's box with the replicas of these minifigs and a nice commemorative box ....

Death Star Compactor 01
Logical follow-up to his previous MOC, "Death Star Escape" I was telling you about here and inspired by toys in the range Kenner Micro Toys collection dating from the 80s, BaronSat offers an equally successful second MOC titled "Death Star Compactor".

Strong point of this MOC, the textures of the walls are extremely well rendered and the mixture of colors is pleasant.

The set forms a beautiful scene and a beautiful solid and realistic playset to combine with the structure of the previous MOC.

The level of leaks concerning the novelties of early 2012 is growing day by day and one comes to doubt the reality of these rumors as it seems unlikely that LEGO has allowed such information to circulate "freely".
We learn that the first wave 2012 would break down as follows:
- #### Endor Battle Pack $ 11.99 - 2 Rebels, 1 Stormtrooper, 1 Scout Trooper
- #### Clone Wars Battle Pack $ 11.99 - 2 Commando Droids, 1 ARC Trooper, 1 ARF Trooper
- 9492 TIE-Fighter $ 49.99 - Death Star Trooper, TIE Pilot, Imperial Officer & R5-J2
- 9493 X-wing $ 59.99 - Luke, R2-D2, Porkins & R5-D8
- 9494 Anakin Skywalker's Jedi Interceptor $ 39.99 - Anakin Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi, R2-D2, Nute Gunray, Mustafar Droid, & Security Battle Droid
The 9494 set was to be produced in Dark Green and similar to the one seen at the end of Episode III and piloted by Anakin on his way to Mustafar. (See capture above)
Note the presence in the range of a new X-Wing probably replacing the set 6212 X-Wing Fighterdating from 2006 and which will have been marketed for nearly 5 years, a record for a set from the System range.

We have seen several versions of the Eta-2 class Jedi Starfighter in the past in system sets 7256 (2005 Jedi Starfighter and Vulture Droid) 7661 (2007 Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Booster Ring) or 7283 (Ultimate Space Battle from 2005).

legorevolution has kept from these machines the characteristic cockpit and some elements with a specific shape to integrate them into a beautiful sutdless MOC of this machine.

The result is really successful on the aesthetic level and gives an impression of power and solidity to this MOC.

The gameplay has not been forgotten, the landing gears are retractable and the cockpit is fully equipped.
The author of the MOC even produced a video to take advantage of the different functions of the machine.

This much-criticized set is finally available on the Lego shop lego for the modest sum of 99.90 €, which is probably 30 € too much. But as when we love we do not count, we buy it and we are offered in the process a Jetpack LEGO® Alien Conquest figurine added automatically to your basket for any order of a minimum amount of 25 €.

For barely less than 100 € you will be entitled, according to the official description of the set, to:
A tauntaun barn with lockable door, a tauntaun, two rotating radars, an ice trap, a working crane and a medical compartment with a bacta tank
8 minifigures: Han Solo, injured Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, 2-1B, protocol droid R-3PO, Chewbacca and 2 snowtroopers
Fire missiles from the turrets!
Defend the Rebel Alliance with repeating blasters and blaster guns!
Measures over 53cm wide by 12cm high
Imperial speeder bike is over 12 '' (XNUMXcm) long

In short, a set that will join my collection, because it is necessary, but the purchase price of which seems really excessive to me. And yet, I'm not the type to complain too often about the prices charged by LEGO ....
