Fruit of the collaboration between TLC and LucasFilm, this short film of 30 minutes soberly titled LEGO® Star Wars: The Padawan Menace was written by a certain Michael Price, already author for the series The Simpsons and will be produced by Animal logic, already a producer of Happy Feet.
In the meantime here are some images (Click on the visuals for large format versions) which seem to show that the realization is of high level, that the fans should not be disappointed and that the sales of the licensed LEGO products should still explode ... .
The original attraction was recently replaced by Star Tours: The Adventures Continue in the US parks Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland.
Legostein attacked this device which even appears anecdotally in theStar Wars Extended Universe ... In the end, it took 120 pieces and some complex assembly techniques to obtain this faithful reproduction. If you're nostalgic for your last Disneyland getaway, download instructions in pdf format at this address and add the StarSpeeder 3000 to your collection.
But, as a representative of TLC indicated, it is too late to correct the elements like the box and the instruction booklets which will therefore be published with the visuals on which appears the original sticker containing the fault "turoblaser".
If we refer to the statement below:
"Unfortunately, as has been called out, the pre-production label included a typo and therefore made it into the production photos for this product, but rest assured that the actual label contained within the box will be accurate. Corrections will also be made to the box and instruction art, but will happen in, “running production” which means initial product (most of the 2011 run) will still be packaged in boxes and with instructions that contain the 'typo' photo However, these sets WILL contain the. accurate plaque label."
It seems that the first copies will therefore be delivered with the corrected sticker, but with the visuals containing the spelling error on the box and the instructions. Collectors, rejoice, there will be two "versions" of this set and you will have to choose your side: Buy the set as soon as it is released with the corrected sticker and the mistakes on the packaging, or wait for the 2012 batch and buy a version 100% corrected. Or buy both...
We discover the set in a complete configuration with all the minifigs included. A little messy but with many minifigs, this playset will undoubtedly delight more children and a little less collectors.
Despite everything, this presentation seems to confirm that this set will be an ideal complement to the set. 7666 Hoth Rebel Base released in 2007 for a complete and fun playset. Another set that is responsible for reminding the most fundamentalist AFOLs that LEGO is above all a toy manufacturer ....
As a bonus, a view of the back of the box posted on the flickr of Lord of the Fries.
There followed a whole slew of reactions from overexcited forumers at the idea of having finally found one of the winners of this priceless prize for collectors.
Everyone has their own advice: Should we sell, keep, sell on eBay or in a real auction house, etc ... with sometimes some reactions tinged with jealousy and skepticism ...
In short, the discussion is a bit surreal but it is worth a look if you understand a little English.
If you want to exchange a few words with the owner of this exclusive minifigure that I was telling you about elsewhere in this article and who must start to believe that he will be able to pay for his kid's studies with the proceeds of the sale, go to the dedicated topic on Eurobricks.
Below is the photo of the minifigure in question posted by JimH.
