Eurobricks LEGO Batman Contest

It was on the initiative of two of its most active members, The Penguin and Whitefang, that Eurobricks launched its Lego batman contest.

The rules are simple: Two categories, and you have until November 29, 2011 to submit a diorama featuring Batman and / or his acolytes or enemies, all with a nice prize in the event of victory.

The first category allows you to stage a 32x32 thumbnail on this theme, the second an 8x8 thumbnail, with no height limit.

The regulations are available in the first post of the dedicated topic. The endowment is attractive with a set 7785 Arkham Asylum MISB for the winner of the first category and a set 7782 The Batwing: The Joker's Aerial Assault MISB for the second. Second and third places will also be rewarded.

I know that the French community is home to many talented MOCeurs, the many participations in the L13 on Brickpirate and the various competitions organized on SeTechnic testify to this, and it would be high time to show the Americans sufficient Eurobricks that the Frenchies can compete in this type of competition.

To read the rules in their entirety and keep you informed in more detail about this competition, go to the dedicated topic at Eurobricks.

9499 Queen Amidala

It's late, and I got into my head that there must be some credible bits of information somewhere about this minifigure that must be the most awaited by fans. I think I got to the bottom of the Internet, and the news is pretty poor.

Still no more information for the moment on this minifigure presented as a prototype in July at San Diego Comic Con 2011.

We will pass on the delusions of young enthusiasts who already see a chrome Royal Naboo Starship accompanying this minifigure, this possibility seems rather weak to me. I remain on my idea of playset of Theed Palace, but the doubt invades me suddenly:

Celebration Leia will be provided in the set 9495 Gold Leader's Y-Wing Starfighter, the DK editions therefore have no reason to put this minifigure back in their next work ... and if ... no, after all, the inscription at the top left of this presentation board clearly indicates that this minifig is planned for the second half of 2012 (Star Wars 2012 2 HY) and mentions that it will be delivered in set 9499.

In short, all this to say nothing and slip you below two pretty customs of Queen Amidala by yoshix et DocVenkman, not necessarily recent, but that's all we have to eat.

I warn you right away: I will not comment on this blog every episode of the animated series Clone Wars. I love this animated series, but don't overdo it, there's FBTB for that ....

That said, I just want to pick up information that seems to me of great importance and which could make us dive from the Star Wars universe into that of Saint-Seya : Darth Maul, cut in two by Obi-Wan Kenobi and disappeared at the bottom of a plasma reactor on Naboo, will be alive and well and back ..... in 2012 in the animated series Clone Wars.

The video above leaves no room for ambiguity.

Back to the facts:

In episode 14 of season 3 Witches of the Mist, finale of an arc of 3 episodes on Nightsisters, Savage Opress learned from Mother Talzin that he had a brother still alive and that he was going to have to find him. We then saw in the crystal ball (or fire) what could be the face of Darth Maul.

Will Darth Maul appear in Savage Opress in the same form as Qui Gon Jinn when he intervenes with Obi-Wan Kenobi? Or will he make his comeback as a cyborg? Or did he have a double? A twin brother ? A competent surgeon?

We can already consider that if Darth Maul is alive he will have to accept his return as canonical in the Star Wars universe. He will return by the will of Georges Lucas who is no longer an approximation in terms of chronology and realism.

From October 12, 2011, various sources including this one  ou that one reported that Lucas himself had the idea of bringing Darth Maul back to the Star Wars universe and bringing him into the Clone Wars animated series.

David Filoni, director on the animated series added that there is enough vagueness or space around Darth Maul to organize his return, but that it was going to have to be done in an extremely credible way ....

Star Wars Magazine also confirmed at the beginning of the year with hints that Darth Maul would be alive and in exile in the Outer border

The miracle is confirmed in the video and it will take a lot of imagination from the writers to make us swallow the pill. Will we be entitled to a plausible explanation, quite relative value in the Star Wars universe?

Nothing is less certain, however the Force will obviously play a leading role in this unexpected return, because as Darth Sidious says in Revenge of the Sith : The Dark Side of the Force is the pathway to many abilities some consider to be… unnatural.

Darth Maul is ultimately an interesting character who deserved better than the few acrobatic scenes in theEpisode I. : The Phantom Menace and the laser cutting he suffered, all without a word. From there to make him come back in the flesh so that Georges Lucas compensates for his disappointment at having underexploited a character who is nevertheless very charismatic .....

I hope we will at least get a Darth Maul minifigure in version Resurrected Maul...

Below is the excerpt from episode 14 of season 3 that started this whole hysterical saga:

It all started froman interview granted to the Los Angeles Times by the president of Warner Interactive, Martin Tremblay, who provides some information on the titles that will be offered on the video game market in 2012.

Throughout this interview we learn, among other things, that Warner will deliver a video game adaptation of Peter Jackson's next film: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. But we also learn that a video game Lego batman 2 is planned, following the first opus released in 2008, which had broken sales records and had beautifully launched the whole series of LEGO games based on universes as different as Star Wars, Indiana Jones or Harry Potter.

Otherwise, the last leaks that I proposed to you a few days ago concerning the DC Universe range for 2012 mentioned the release of a video game expected for the month of June 2012: Textually the document announced: In June release of a LEGO Super Heroes video game.

Martin Tremblay's interview confirms this information: ... along with a Lego Batman sequel and a game featuring a superhero from Warner's DC Comics unit that Tremblay wouldn't name .... It should therefore be a second game featuring one of the heroes of the DC Comics license. The list of potential heroes is long and it's unclear right now who's Superman, Wonder Woman, or maybe even Green Lantern will be there. I have a penchant for Justice League [Justice League] which would have the advantage of bringing together these super heroes and offering a wide range of playful possibilities.

the question that arises, however, is: What about the Marvel license and its adaptation into a LEGO video game? No mention of this license yet in the LEGO retailer catalogs. Since the presentation of minifigs as prototypes at San Diego Comic Con in July, no set image featuring Iron Man, Captain America, or the Hulk has filtered. Despite everything, it seems to me that LEGO intends to group its offer under the unified banner of the Superheroes range and we should quickly get some information on the possible video game adaptation of the Avengers, whose film will undoubtedly be one of the biggest cinematographic events of 2012.

Two Face by tomleech

Unless you live in a cave, you already know that on October 20, 2011, the most anticipated game for Batman fans is released: Batman Arkham City.

Et tomleech did not wait to offer his custom version of Two Face alias Double Face at home, alias Harvey Dent, the ex-District Attroney of Gotham City disfigured with acid. This custom minifigure perfectly reproduces the representation of Two Face in the game. This is a combination of decals and paint, embellished with sculpted hair made from Kneadatite®, an epoxy / polyamide paste widely used in the field of molding and which has the particularity of being able to be worked relatively long before final drying. It then remains flexible enough not to break under pressure.

You will also find some information on the use of this product for the purpose of sculpture and design of parts in this technical sheet from the manufacturer Polymeric Systems.

Regarding Two Face, the achievement is high level. the face is extremely detailed and Dent's costume is thoughtfully illustrated. The minifig is equipped with an M1911 revolver from Brickarms.

If you want to get the custom minifigs produced by tomleech, contact him via flickr, he will be happy to make you an offer. Take the opportunity to take a look at his versions of the Joker played by Heath Ledger in Batman the dark knight  and Two face whose role was played by Aaron Eckhart in the same film released in 2008.
