Today we'll take a quick look at the contents of the LEGO Disney Pixar set. 43307 Alien with Pizza Planet Rocket Ride, a box of 714 pieces currently available for pre-order on the official store as well as on Amazon at the public price of €59,99 and which will be available from May 1, 2026.
There's no need to make a big deal out of it, what we have here is a nice little display item that will appeal to fans of the Toy Story franchise, and despite a few aesthetic flaws, this model seems quite successful to me.
The alien figure to be built here is admittedly a bit cubic overall but it remains faithful to the character seen on screen, the ride can be set in motion thanks to the crank placed on the side of the support and the whole thing works rather well even though it remains possible to separate the two constructions to display them separately, the alien not being attached to the ride.
The alien's arms and hands have a degree of mobility, allowing for some playful poses, such as grasping a slice of pizza or expressing its enthusiasm for the ride. This is sufficient in terms of movement. The figure's feet can be spread apart to make standing more natural once it's off the ride. It remains upright inside the rocket, as its legs are not movable.
There's no articulation at the mouth to vary facial expressions, for example; the creature's face is static. The eyes are pad-printed, and the green of the eyelids doesn't perfectly match the color of the other parts of the head. The head itself is still rotatable, which is a nice feature.
From the ride's perspective, the rocket may seem a little crude with its DUPLO-like construction, but the intended goal is, in my opinion, cleverly achieved with a perfect look of a large toy with legible curves and which gives the impression of being made up of only a few large pieces.
For those wondering, the canopy used here in an unexpected way has also appeared this year in two other sets in the CITY range and will be used in the LEGO Marvel set. 76354 SHIELD Helicarrier.
There are obviously some stickers to stick on the alien and on the rocket, it's graphically in keeping with the subject matter but the sticker that goes on the alien's chest is once again not the right shade.
LEGO could have provided a copy of the alien minifigure seen in the 2016 series 71012 Disney Collectible Minifigures Series...to please the fans and make this product even more attractive.
Upon arrival, I find this product truly successful; it has a very "cartoonish" look, offers a relatively interesting building experience, and its decorative potential is obvious. We won't really be playing with the carousel, but we can't fault LEGO for doing its job by offering a feature that, while it may quickly seem trivial, adds a bit of complexity to the build and allows the carousel to be displayed with a visual sense of movement.
Those who are most motivated can always motorize it; the easily accessible crank allows for the integration of the motor without too much tinkering, although you will have to find a way to conceal it.
At €60 a box, this collectible remains relatively affordable and would make a nice gift for a fan without breaking the bank. It will obviously soon be possible to find this set for less elsewhere than at LEGO. As for retailers, Amazon has exclusive rights to it in France.
Overall, I find the three sets based on the Toy Story license and scheduled for May 1st, 2026, quite inspired, even if they're no longer true toys for younger children to play with. LEGO isn't neglecting this universe, and the three offerings for 2026 are a hit, even if they all have their flaws.
Note: The product shown here, provided by LEGO, is, as usual, being given away. Deadline set for April 26, 2026 at 23:59 p.m. Simply post a comment below the article to participate.
