Today we quickly take a look at the contents of the LEGO DC set 76274 Batman with the Batmobile vs. Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze, a small box of 435 pieces which will be available via the official online store and in LEGO Stores from June 1, 2024 at the public price of €59,99.

This set is a derivative product of the animated series Batman The Animated Series (BTAS for close friends or Batman The Animated Series here), we therefore find the emblematic Batmobile seen on the screen with a rather surprising choice of color since LEGO preferred to give it a dark blue color whereas it is much darker in the series where we can imagine that It is black with blue highlights.

Please note, the LEGO version of the machine is in reality a little darker than what the official visuals on the official online store suggest.

We will do with this aesthetic bias, as with the one-piece windshield which lacks a central pillar. For the rest it is rather faithful and one would have to be in bad faith not to immediately associate this version with the reference media.

LEGO presents the vehicle on a support identical to that already seen in the set 76188 Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile or in the promotional set 40433 1989 Batmobile Limited Edition offered by LEGO in 2019. This is so much the better for collectors who can therefore line up vehicles benefiting from the same staging on their shelves and enjoy all these Batmobiles from every angle, the support in question being rotatable.

The assembly of this new Batmobile is shipped relatively quickly, we build a solid chassis based on beams from the Technic ecosystem, we add two gears which will be used to rotate the exhaust of the vehicle made of a barrel and we then begin the installation of the bodywork. We will note some variations in color between the blue pieces, the effect will only be visible in a certain light but it is there. No engine or hood, this is not a model from the ICONS range, it is a child's toy.

The driving position of this Batmobile can accommodate the owner of the vehicle and it is not necessary to remove his rigid cape to install him at the controls, which is appreciable. Two Stud Shooters Removable are mounted on the hood of the vehicle, they are not retractable but they can be easily removed. All that will remain then are the holes which accommodate their anchoring points, nothing serious.

I find the design of the vehicle generally successful, even if we lose a little here the rounded shapes of the bat symbol which forms the rear of the body. We clearly see the massive side of the machine, the grille is rather well interpreted and if we consider that it is LEGO on a scale which does not allow all the fantasies, it is already very good as it is. I'm waiting for the ICONS version of the thing, a larger version would allow more fidelity in the details. We can dream.

There are obviously a few stickers to stick in this box: four for the cockpit of the Batmobile, two for the front headlights and the one that adorns the vehicle's presentation plate.

The set allows you to obtain three characters from the series: Batman, Harley Quinn and Mr Freeze. Too bad for Harley Queen, a minifig also available in the set 76271 Batman The Animated Series Gotham City, with his white collar which once again turns pink because it is pad printed on a red piece, Mr Freeze is content with neutral legs and it is Batman, also available in the set 76271 Batman The Animated Series Gotham City, which stands out here with a pretty pad printing of the torso, very detailed legs, the now usual mask which incorporates the white eyes and a pretty new cape molded to the most beautiful effect which was not in the fresco.

This Batmobile ticks all the boxes in my opinion that make it worthy of your attention, especially if you've watched the animated series it's inspired by. It's nicely executed given the scale, we benefit from some basic but welcome features and the presence of the small rotating base associated with a presentation plate is a real plus which gives character to the whole. The three characters provided are correct, the homage to the series is therefore in my opinion successful.
