12/09/2024 - 15:23 LEGO FORTNITE New LEGO 2024 Reviews

Today we take a quick look at the contents of the LEGO FORTNITE set 77073 Battle Bus, a box of 954 pieces currently available for pre-order on the official online store and which will be available from October 1, 2024 at the public price of €99,99.

Fans dreamed of it, LEGO made it happen: after the digital association of these two universes, they finally meet in the aisles of toy stores, even if some may remain hungry when they see that these are mainly derivative products that will only end up displayed on a shelf and not pure playsets like a Super Mario or Minecraft range.

The Battle Bus was therefore an obvious choice to symbolize the FORTNITE universe with a LEGO sauce and the proposal is here in my opinion very honest. The level of detail is sufficient despite some aesthetic approximations, particularly at the level of the upper part of the ball and fans of the game will find what they are looking for knowing that the product is sold at a rather reasonable price, or in any case accessible to almost all budgets, whether they are made up of pocket money or not.

Please note that the code on the cover of the instruction booklet for the four sets in the range will unlock a digital bonus entitled "Operation Brite Starter Pack" in the video game:

The assembly of the bus is quickly dispatched, it is at the level of what we find in other ranges of toys for children which stage similar vehicles like for example the school bus of the set 70423 Paranormal Intercept Bus 3000 from the defunct LEGO Hidden Side range. Nothing complicated or very inspired, it is also the subject that defines the level of technicality of many products. No frills like a direction or any mechanism that could have for example set the flame of the hot air balloon in motion.

The interior of the vehicle can store the nine characters provided via the removable roof and the whole thing can end its career in a child's room or in the background of a regular streamer's decor. We all know here that no one will really play with this product, LEGO is simply content in this range to offer all generations of players concerned derivative products that will seduce them. The bravest may try to hang this bus from the ceiling, the effect should be interesting.

The reproduction of the bus is rather faithful, the vehicle of 28 cm long by 28 cm high including the balloon is in all cases easily identifiable, except perhaps for those who do not know the video game in question. LEGO obviously imposes a handful of stickers which as often bring their share of graphic details, we will make do without resigning ourselves. The big approximation here is at the level of the balloon, we do not find exactly the look of this element as it appears in the video game even if the chosen colors are consistent.

As for the nine figurines provided, the selection seems relatively relevant to me even if the most assiduous fans would always want more. Battalion Brawler, Adventure Peely, Brite Bomber, Cuddle Team Leader, Cube Assassin, Trespasser Elite, Drift, Meowscles and Ravenn are therefore part of it and the pad printing is generally very successful and faithful to the digital versions of the different skins.

There are still some technical flaws, such as the not-quite-white white of Cuddle Team Leader's torso, but the main point is there, and I would like to point out that LEGO has solved a problem that was often present: the ink filling of the area between the curve of the thighs and the legs of the characters.

In my opinion, LEGO has taken on the subject well and has produced a truly successful copy without resorting to excessive scale or inventory which would inflate the price: for a hundred euros, this product which correctly accomplishes its mission will obviously find its audience very quickly.

We could imagine that LEGO arrives a little after the battle on the FORTNITE file even if the game released in 2017 gathers an ever-increasing number of players, but we must also count on the fact that the players of the first hour have grown up, their purchasing power has in principle improved and they are now ripe to pay and treat themselves to a slice of nostalgia. This Battle Bus therefore arrives at the right time and we can predict without too much error that it will be at the foot of many Christmas trees during the end-of-year holidays.

It should be noted that the products in the LEGO FORTNITE range are exclusive to the official online store, at least temporarily, and that it will be difficult to find them elsewhere at a better price than at LEGO before the end of the year. We will therefore have to wait for at least a doubling of Insider points or an interesting promotional product to have the impression of not paying too much for them.

Note: The product shown here, provided by LEGO, is as usual involved. Deadline fixed at September 22, 2024 next at 23:59 p.m. Simply post a comment below the article to participate.
