lego harry potter luna lovegoods house review 1

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Harry Potter set 76467 Luna Lovegood's House, a box of 764 pieces currently available for pre-order at LEGO and Amazon at a public price of €99,99 and which will be available from January 1, 2026.

If you've been following the LEGO Harry Potter range closely, you probably know that this is the first time these locations have appeared in the line, and we can at least commend the decision to present them separately from the usual re-releases of the franchise's staples. The house seen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is much less welcoming than this LEGO-style playset, we can't blame the manufacturer for trying to make construction a more colorful and attractive toy than the gloomy house seen on screen.

That being said, the house, which is about 30 centimeters tall, will give you roughly your money's worth if you're interested in the assembly process: it will remind you a bit of the set 76437 The Burrow Collectors' Edition with its unique use of angles. The interior layout is basic; there isn't really room to cram in more furniture and decorations. The only notable feature is the presence of stairs that allow movement between the different spaces.

The set's main feature is a mechanism associated with a classic light brick that allows you to project and scroll through a few patterns that supposedly symbolize the The Tale of the Three Brothers on the kitchen wall. On paper, it's ambitious. In reality, it's a failure, it's vague and purely anecdotal.

The initial impression is mostly that of a slide viewer from the 70s, like the Stereoclic for those who remember those toys. Setting up the system, with a dial to scroll through the images and a button to push to illuminate the scene, will take you five minutes. It's ingenious and well-designed, and it's almost a shame that the result doesn't live up to the effort put into trying to offer a fun and original function.

The set is covered in large stickers with a somewhat questionable, almost sloppy design. I'm often the first to praise the work of Billund's graphic designers on these stickers, but those included here aren't up to the expected standard to truly enhance the product, unlike, for example, those regularly found in the Marvel range. Furthermore, did the set really need stickers depicting bricks on a wall? I'm not so sure.

As for the figurines provided in this box, we get Luna Lovegood, her Patronus, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Xenophilius Lovegood as well as a Death Eater.

Luna Lovegood takes advantage of the torso already seen in the set 76453 Malfoy Manor and the heads of Pam Beesly (The Office), Mary Cattermole, Fern (Star Wars), Marie Curie, Helen Cho (Avengers), and Andy (The Goonies). The word "recycling" takes on its full meaning here. The character is accompanied by their Patronus, a hare much more opaque than the one on the set. 75966 Hogwarts Room of RequirementThese new Patronus figures seem disappointing to me; they lack the shimmer and glitter present in previous versions. The official images are, once again, overly optimistic; the actual hare doesn't really resemble the one shown on the official online store.

Luna's father, Xenophilius Lovegood, benefits from superb print, almost a bit too colorful for the outfit seen on screen, but it's graphically very successful. The head of the character played by Rhys Ifans (Dr. Curt Connors in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Otto Hightower in House of the Dragon) is original and I would have used white hair rather than the yellow provided here.

Hermione Granger and Harry Potter reuse the torsos already seen in the set 76453 Malfoy Manor on neutral legs, it's the bare minimum. Harry's head is the one available since 2019, Hermione's dates from 2017, when it was used by Carina (Pirates of the Caribbean), then Pepper Potts, then Maisie Lockwood, then an elf from Rivendell.

The Death Eater also has to make do with neutral legs, but he benefits from a new and beautifully executed torso and head.

The overall assessment is therefore mixed for these figurines, three of which logically recycle some outfits, and only two characters remain with new features.

Upon arrival, and for around a hundred euros, it's meager. No one will really replay the few scenes seen on screen, the integrated functionality isn't up to the technical standard one would expect from a high-end toy in 2026, and even if the build quality is rather good aesthetically, we'll wisely wait to find this set for much less before giving in to temptation.
