Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75351 Princess Leia (Boushh) Helmet, a box of 670 pieces currently in pre-order on the official online store and which will be available at the retail price of €69.99 from March 1st.

LEGO offers us here a product which, in my opinion, will have a little trouble being self-sufficient on display alone on a shelf, but which on the other hand will easily find its place in the middle of an alignment of helmets a priori considered by many to be more emblematic of the Star Wars saga.

Regular fans, however, know very well this helmet stolen from a bounty hunter by Leia and worn by the princess during her infiltration into Jabba's palace to free Han Solo from his carbonite prison (Episode VI). The scene only lasts a few minutes on the screen but LEGO is starting to have gone around the subject by offering a whole collection of helmets of imperial soldiers, a helmet of a rebel pilot and two helmets of Mandalorians and it is also necessary to bring some diversity aesthetic appeal to this collection, which expands a little more each year.

I think the designer of this product got away with it honourably, the challenge was met and the helmet seen on the screen combines angles and growths of all kinds that had to be reproduced while trying to respect the proportions of the object. . It's still a LEGO-style interpretation that won't compete with a real model of the accessory, but this model is immediately identifiable despite some aesthetic approximations. Those who collect these various LEGO helmets have long since accepted the idea that these are just $60 or $70 LEGO versions and not high-end cosplay or display props.

No big surprise during the assembly phase of this 17 cm high, 11 cm wide and 14 cm deep product, we are on familiar ground with the impression of building the internal structure of a large BrickHeadz figurine which is fixed on the usual foot and around which a few sub-assemblies are then fixed which make it possible to obtain the desired result. There are a few stickers to stick on to refine the level of detail of the product a bit and many brown-colored parts are scratched right out of the box, nothing new under the Tatooine sun.

everything is very quickly assembled, but the process has some good surprises in store, especially when it comes to connecting the "muzzle" of the helmet to the rest of the structure and obtaining a very convincing positioning of this outgrowth. There are still a few empty spaces here and there between the different subsets, but the shadows will do their job and the object will look great if it is displayed in the right light. The alternation between smooth surfaces and exposed tenons is in my opinion balanced, this helmet is neither too smooth nor too spotty.

The small plate placed at the foot of the base is pad-printed as usual and I think that you can possibly avoid sticking the few stickers provided which do not bring much visually but which will inevitably be noticed over time by drying and by detaching themselves from their support. Be careful when moving the helmet, the two telephone handsets placed on the sides of the object only hold on a single tenon and are easily unhooked.

Indispensable for some, too anecdotal for others, this product whose packaging bears the logo celebrating the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi will inevitably appeal to fans nostalgic for the Original Trilogy. It is well made, it features a slightly different accessory from those usually available from LEGO and it will easily find its place in the middle of a row of more classic helmets. It's up to you whether to spend €70 without waiting at LEGO or whether to be patient and pay a little less later elsewhere.
