LEGO Mario Kart - Mario and Standard Kart - Nintendo Character Collector Figure - Buildable Car Model for Video Game Fans - Gift
Today we take a quick tour of the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75406 Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle, a box of 386 pieces currently available for pre-order on the official online store at a retail price of €69,99 and which will be available from May 1, 2025.
I won't repeat the whole pitch for you Starship Collection Launched by LEGO in 2024, it is a series of exhibition models in the format Midi Scale consisting of sets to date 75375 Millennium Falcon (921 pieces - 84.99 €), 75376 Tantive IV (654 pieces - 79.99 €), 75377 Invisible Hand (557 pieces - 52.99 €), 75404 Acclamator-Class Assault Ship (450 pieces - 49,99 €) and 75405 Home One Starcruiser (559 pieces - €69,99). We could add the set 75356 Executor Super Star Destroyer (630 pieces - €69,99) available since 2023 and the reference 77904 Nebulon B-Frigate (459 pieces - $39,99) sold exclusively at Amazon USA in 2020.
This new model joins the large handful of ships already stored on your shelves. It is probably not the most extravagant of the lot, but it will make a small impact in the background. It is the subject matter that imposes the relative austerity of the product with its dark color, the very compact body of the ship and the two large wings that know how to get noticed.
Since both the ship and the stand are the same color, it's a bit difficult to visually separate the two elements. We could have imagined a more contrasting solution by changing the shade of the stand, but the consistency of the range would probably have suffered. We'll therefore settle for this black ship on its black stand.
For the rest, it is well executed but without particular panache, even if we find the easter eggs usual in the bowels of the ship's body with the micro-versions of Hux and Kylo Ren. We can marvel at the use of ski poles for the cannons but that will probably not be enough to justify the price of the product.
It should also be noted that the two wings can be deployed at 45° with a stop that ensures that the angle is respected or kept vertical, two display possibilities that will also not be enough to make the price pill go down. In open mode, the ship occupies 44 cm wide and 26 cm high when the wings are vertical.

If I had to make a criticism, it would be about the visual imbalance between the thickness of the wings and the size of the central section of the ship, it's very personal but I have the impression that the wings with their three layers of parts to which we add the visible studs on the surface make them a little too dense compared to the thickness of the rest of the thing. It was undoubtedly difficult to do otherwise, it was also necessary to think about the lower surface of the wings which is exposed when the two extensions are presented vertically.
As usual, the display stand incorporates two pairs of studs hidden under gray grids, a detail that allows you to add one or two minifigs to the stand if you want to associate the owners of the ships with the models you line up on your shelves.
In short, this new member of the Starship Collection will not revolutionize a range that has already offered us more original interpretations of other ships from the Star Wars universe and the price asked here seems really exaggerated to me.
€70 for this is way too much with less than 400 pieces in the box, no figurines and a construction that is undoubtedly successful but does not deserve this price treatment. LEGO is undoubtedly counting on fans of the owner of this ship to pay without complaining, but I am not sure that this box will be snapped up at this price.
In any case, this set does better than previous LEGO interpretations of Kylo Ren's ship: the 2015 version of the set 75104 Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle was totally off topic with its gray color and that of the set 75256 Kylo Ren's Shuttle marketed in 2019 was a playset that was too crude, with finishing sacrificed for the benefit of playability.
This small model at least has the merit of paying homage to the reference vessel by respecting its colors and proportions, with the usual limitations of the scale imposed by the format of the collection.
We will wisely wait for the price of the product to drop elsewhere than at LEGO or we will at least take advantage of the promotional offers planned for the annual May the 4th operation in order to limit the damage.
Note: The product shown here, provided by LEGO, is as usual involved. Deadline fixed at May 15, 2025 at 23:59 pm. Just post a comment under the article to participate.
