Review : LEGO Star Wars 75408 Jango Fett Helmet

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75408 Jango Fett Helmet, a box of 616 pieces currently available for pre-order on the official online store at a retail price of €79,99 and which will be available from May 1, 2025.

Visually, this helmet will undoubtedly send those familiar with what LEGO is now calling the helmet collection to other interpretations of the same barrel with the sets 75328 The Mandalorian Helmet (2022) et 75277 Boba Fett Helmet (2020). I remind you for all useful purposes that the set 75277 Boba Fett Helmet with its 625 pieces was then sold at the public price of €59,99, you will draw the conclusions you want in terms of pricing policy.

That being said, the Jango Fett helmet available this year is in my opinion quite successful, as were already the two other Mandalorian helmets already on the market, with a few details, with good management of angles and depths and there is only the upper area all in visible studs which appeals to me much less. It is the signature of the range, difficult to do without but I never really got used to it.

Unlike Boba Fett's helmet, which had a rangefinder with a thick rod made of pieces, LEGO is changing its approach this year to a thinner rod that is undoubtedly more faithful to the reference accessory but which, in my opinion, lacks a bit of panache.

The solution used is effective, no doubt about it, but I preferred the more "LEGO" rendering of the rod of Boba Fett's rangefinder and I would in any case have kept the initial solution for the sake of homogeneity of the collection.

Here we're dealing with a large handful of stickers that will need to be carefully aligned: in addition to the challenge of trying to correctly align the gray stripes between the different stickers, we'll also have to compensate for the fact that the cutting of the stickers itself isn't uniform. It's almost mission impossible; we'll have to make compromises.

The result is frankly disappointing, especially for such a visible pattern that goes around the object. For the rest, we will salute the effort on the "cheeks" of the helmet with a nice depth effect similar to that seen on the helmet of the set 75328 The Mandalorian Helmet and very correct management of angles.

It should also be noted that designers have made a lot of progress in their approach to this imposed format in just a few years, those who have the headset from the set in their hands 75277 Boba Fett Helmet know that the "cheeks" had not benefited from the same care as on the two following Mandalorian helmets.

In short, this new helmet, which carries the helmet collection LEGO Star Wars, with its 14 references, will inevitably join the other products already installed on the shelves of the most persistent collectors, but it will probably be necessary to wait to be able to find it elsewhere for less than the €80 asked by LEGO. Despite a generally very acceptable finish, the public price of this product is frankly too high for what it has to offer, with the added bonus of an inexcusable sheet of misaligned stickers.

If you don't have enough patience, you will have to at least take advantage of the offers provided by LEGO during the annual operation. May the 4th from May 1st to 5th, 2025 to receive some promotional products to help you swallow the pill.
