Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75435 Battle of Felucia Separatist MTT, a box of 976 pieces available from LEGO and many retailers since August 1, 2025 at the public price of €149,99.
The MTT is what we can call a chestnut tree at LEGO, the manufacturer having already released a version of the machine Episode I. in three sets in the past: the set 7184 Trade Federation MMT in 2000, the set 7662 Trade Federation MMT in 2007 and the set 75058 MTT in 2014. Nostalgia aside, this new, slightly more compact version in a separatist colorway, in my opinion, does better than the previous models in many ways.
The finish of the machine is quite good here, the deployment mechanism of the Battle Droids ramp via a relatively discreet wheel is interesting and the accessibility of the interior of the machine is maximum here with mobile panels on all sides.
The two ramps that only allow you to install six droids move apart by themselves when they descend towards the ground when they meet a pyramid piece, it's really very well thought out with a very convincing effect. I'm not disappointed to be able to install only six droids on the ramps, I'll be happy with that even if I can understand those who hoped for at least double the number of figurines to integrate into the vehicle.
The big Dish The correctly pad-printed strip that masks the ramp moves freely, so it follows the movements of the ramp and does not need to be manually repositioned. Simple, but effective. The sticker supply here is reasonable with five stickers. Unfortunately, those that are placed on the sides of the cabin are not completely in line with the color of the parts that accommodate these stickers.
We could criticize the rough design of certain areas of the machine, especially at the rear, with the added bonus of some somewhat haphazard adjustments in places between the different panels, but in my opinion the thing remains visually rather convincing even if we are here in the presence of a very simplified interpretation, sometimes a little messy and lacking fluidity to really pay homage to the MTT seen on the screen.
The guns placed at the front are much too short, probably to avoid adding rods which would come loose when the machine was being handled by the youngest, the two Stud Shooters integrated at the front have no place there but they can be removed easily, the pilot must be installed in a lying position to be able to close the cockpit and the solution used at the rear which groups together several panels to close the hold tends to come loose easily.
That being said, this MTT is not without merit in my opinion and it is only its price positioning that forces me to wait for a more interesting offer elsewhere than LEGO. The allocation of figurines may seem massive on the box, but we mainly get half a dozen generic Battle Droids, a pilot with a poorly pad-printed torso and three Commando Droids with a detailed but not very interesting design.
We are left with only two real minifigs: Aayla Secura, missing from LEGO since her last appearance in the set 75182 Republic Fighter Tank in 2017 and Commander Bly. The welcome update to the Aayla Secura figure is frankly successful with a very satisfying level of detail.
Fans of "identified" Clone characters will be delighted to get Commander Bly here via a generally successful figurine but whose yellow tint could perhaps have been less intense. No cloth Kama, that's fine with me, I prefer to do without the accessory since I can't get it in soft plastic but that's very personal.
This 29 cm long MTT sold in a 53 cm long box may disappoint those who see it as big as on the box while the visual is far too optimistic. shrinkflation at LEGO only translates into a change in the scale of the content and not the packaging, it's a bit of a shame and we're bordering on false advertising here.
The box would probably be worth the €150 asked for if the contents were as large as promised on the front, but what you find inside gives a bit of a feeling of being ripped off even if the playability is there and the finish remains very decent for a toy intended for the youngest.
I said it live on Twitch, I'm currently assembling both the new LEGO Star Wars and Marvel ranges, the latter offering products of such laziness and sadness that the current LEGO Star Wars sets seem more accomplished and more convincing. This is an observation made out of spite, the least worst making the best impression.
