lego starwars 75388 jedi bob starfighter 1

Today we take a quick tour of the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75388 Jedi Bob's Starfighter, a box of 305 pieces available from LEGO and elsewhere since August 1, 2024 at the public price of €39,99.

I remind you for all intents and purposes that the main character delivered in this box is in fact an anonymous figurine initially delivered in the set 7163 Republic Gunship marketed in 2002 and which later found its identity in the pages of the first edition of LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary published in 2009. It was enough for the most dedicated fans to become attached to this character who then became Jedi Bob who will make an appearance in the animated series entitled LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy the four episodes of which will be broadcast from September 13, 2024 on the Disney + platform.

We're not going to lie, the set relies on the presence of Jedi Bob and the character will undoubtedly be enough to sell this product which allows us to assemble a Jedi Starfighter which is otherwise quite successful. The construction is not lazy and it offers some nice assembly sequences which almost make the pill of the public price of this little box pass more easily.

Those accustomed to the Delta-7 platform which serves as a reference for these ships which have long become chestnut trees of the LEGO Star Wars range will be on familiar ground here but the machine benefits this time from some mechanical and aesthetic additions which contribute to giving it a singular appearance. The designer was also not stingy with the engines with an overbidding which transforms this vessel into a supercharged machine at the Wipeout.

The finish of the upper side of the ship is satisfactory and the few stickers imposed add their share of details. The angle of the wings as well as the junction between them and the fuselage are well managed, in my opinion it is very successful, and the ship even has the luxury of having a landing gear and two Spring Shooters placed under the wings. These can often be removed if the thing looks a little too much like a child's toy.

lego starwars 75388 jedi bob starfighter 2

lego starwars 75388 jedi bob starfighter 6

The cockpit can obviously accommodate Jedi Bob with his cape on his back and his hood on his head and the character's saber can be clipped under the ship. The whole thing is solid, easily handled and does not fall apart at the slightest movement.

As for the three characters provided, we are satisfied here with two figurines, Jedi Bob and Ackbar Trooper, and a droid named SERVO (SR-V0). The latter will probably not go down in posterity, it is remarkably banal and we will have to wait to see what role it occupies in the animated series to know if it really deserved its place in this box.

Ackbar is here in Trooper version, but without a helmet adapted to the character's morphology. The assembly of elements may therefore seem a little lazy but we will make do with it. The Jedi Bob figurine is almost identical to the one in the set 7163 Republic Gunship, yellow head included, and LEGO has only added a few signs of aging of the pad printing on the torso like a figurine with which we would have played a lot. The wink is there, the fans will undoubtedly find what they are looking for and the circle is closed.

The results are therefore rather positive with a construction which slightly refreshes the theme already discussed many times by the manufacturer and two minifigs which will undoubtedly find their audience among the most die-hard fans of the range. From there to paying all that 40 €, I think that patience remains essential while waiting to find this little box for a little less expensive elsewhere in the weeks and months to come.

75393 lego starwars tie fighter xwing mashup 1

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75393 TIE Fighter & X-wing Mash-up, a box of 1063 pieces currently for pre-order on the official online store and which will be available at the public price of €109,99 from August 1, 2024.

You know since the announcement of the product, this box is inspired by the animated mini-series entitled LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy the four episodes of which will be broadcast from September 13, 2024 on the Disney + platform. It is a kind of What If? in Star Wars style with an alternative reality which redefines the balance of forces present and in the process provides excessive fan service.

We therefore find here this alternative reality with the possibility of transforming the two proposed ships by giving them the wings of the other. Why not, we won't blame LEGO for putting its know-how at the service of playability and the principle at work in this set is rather well transposed in terms of construction.

Each of the two ships has a pair of wings that can be extracted very easily and then inserted into the other construction and the manipulation really only takes a few seconds. There is nothing to dismantle apart from the two rods which secure the wing blocks which are only held by a pin, it's fun for five minutes and the youngest will undoubtedly find what they're looking for.

We end up with a TIE Fighter over-equipped with engines and an the most die-hard fans call the Uglies : ships cobbled together with elements from different machines seen in certain comics published around the saga.

If we put aside this functionality of the product, we are still left with two rather well executed ships, obviously taking into account the imposed scale. The TIE Fighter and the X-wing to build in this box look good with a sufficient level of detail and foolproof solidity. They can easily make a career on the corner of a shelf while waiting for something better.

The cockpit of the TIE fighter is easily accessible to install a pilot, the wings of the . Both ships are equipped with Spring-Shooters relatively discreet which can be removed if their presence seems inappropriate to you.

An important clarification: the supports which hold the two ships in suspension visible on one of the official visuals online on the LEGO Shop as well as on the back of the product box are not provided.

75393 lego starwars tie fighter xwing mashup 9

75393 lego starwars tie fighter xwing mashup 7

75393 lego starwars tie fighter xwing mashup 10

The canopy of the X-Wing is pad printed just like that of the TIE Fighter but there are still a few stickers to stick on the wings of the X-wing or around the cockpit of the TIE Fighter.

Some adult fans will undoubtedly be a little disappointed by the contents of this box, but it is important not to forget that this product is primarily aimed at children. If the series makes good use of the possibility offered in this box, it is a safe bet that this set will find its audience without forcing too much.

As for the minifigs provided, we get five characters including the inevitable TIE Fighter and X-wing pilots, two characters from the series and identified as Yesi Scala and Sig Greebling as well as a garishly colored astromech droid named L3-G0 . I am not drawing you a picture about the names of the three characters who accompany the two pilots, LEGO does not hesitate here to make a few strong nods to its own universe.

We could also imagine that the astromech droid, which is a red and yellow version of R2-D2, is here advertising the McDonald's brand rather than for LEGO; the most suspicious may see this as a marketing intention. a little sneaky.

The X-wing pilot's helmet is new and matches the astromech droid that takes place in the ship. For the rest, the elements which constitute the two pilots are rather common in the LEGO Star Wars range. Yesi Scala and Sig Greebling are wearing new outfits, they are protagonists of the new animated series which serves as a reference for this product and these two characters will only exist in this context. If you exhaustively collect everything that LEGO produces in terms of minifigs around the Star Wars universe, don't miss the opportunity to add these figurines to your Ribba frames.

There is no need to dwell on this set for long, it is a derivative product of a series which has not yet been broadcast but which offers interesting fun possibilities for the youngest. We will have to wait to see if the series is a hit and if the products it inspires hit the shelves like hot cakes or if this type of box will end up in clearance during, for example, the next Black Friday.

€110 is undoubtedly a little too expensive as it stands, but there will quickly be many opportunities to pay a little less for this product elsewhere than at LEGO. Amazon is already at €104,99 without forcing, it will quickly be possible to pay for this set for less than €100:

75392 lego starwars creative play droid builder 3

Today we take a very quick look at the contents of the LEGO Star Wars set 75392 Creative Play Droid Builder, a box of 1186 pieces currently for pre-order on the official online store and which will be available from August 1, 2024 at the public price of €99.99.

We have already said almost everything about this product during its first public appearance, everyone has had plenty of time to get a more precise idea about the relevance of its content. This involves assembling four astromech droids, R2-D2, Chopper (C1-10P), QT-KT and R5-J2, adorning them with some crazy accessories and possibly "creating" new droids by interchanging them. certain parts of the four characters between them.

Basically, why not, the idea at work here actually promises some interesting possibilities for the youngest. In terms of form, it is less attractive than expected with droids which are a little crude in their basic appearance which the addition of various and varied attributes which are not in finesse does not help. By adding a hat, a mustache and/or a pair of glasses, you get a little lost visually and you can't say that the designers have shown much subtlety.

We could also have imagined that the accessories provided would be directly inspired by the Star Wars universe with, for example, lightsabers, hoods, horns like for Darth Maul or even a Wookie belt. Indeed, the mixture of genres interests me less than the possible crossover with attributes which would clearly come from the license and which would have made it possible to remain in the theme while offering some interesting crossovers.

The possibilities offered by the contents of the set are, however, numerous: four people can assemble these droids using the various instruction booklets provided, there are no stickers in the box and the few patterned pieces provided are therefore pad printed. which guarantees handling without risk of damaging the stickers, the droids can choose to maintain their usual appearance and end their career on a shelf or serve as a starting point for a fun activity in the style of Mr Potato and the lifespan of a product like this necessarily becomes rather substantial.

There remains the public price of this box which seems to me far too high for what it has to offer, even if some will judge that the fun potential of the set is enough to excuse its price positioning. It also remains to be verified whether the youngest will really be attracted by the concept which requires knowing a little about the droids concerned having already seen the saga itself as well as the animated series. Star Wars: The Clone Wars et Star Wars: Rebels to be able to fully appreciate the wacky side of the proposed changes.

75392 lego starwars creative play droid builder 8

75392 lego starwars creative play droid builder 9

Simply changing the sub-assemblies together or adding a hat to a droid is not a big joke as it stands and the concept requires minimal context to go beyond the simple mix of colors and accessories sold €100. You could possibly purchase this product as a souvenir of a visit to the Star Wars Droid Factory which proposed in the Disney parks from 2012 to 2017 the construction of an astromech droid based on various and varied elements from the Hasbro inventory in the form of a workshop entitled Build-a-Droid.

If this product is obviously aimed at children, LEGO does not forget to find something to motivate those who pay, the parents, by adding a new figurine of young Leia accompanied for the occasion by her droid sound L0- LA59 (Lola for those close to you who have seen the series Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi). The flying droid is in fact materialized here by a simple pad-printed part combined with elements allowing the young girl to hold it in hand. It is correctly executed and the torso of the figurine responsible for celebrating the 25th anniversary of the LEGO Star Wars range in this box displays a pattern faithful to the outfit seen on the screen.

A clarification for those who have any doubts: it is indeed possible to assemble the four basic droids with the inventory of the set. It is therefore not necessary to disassemble one to assemble the other. The supply of accessories allowing you to personalize the different robots is, however, quite basic, everything is in the central photo that I offer you above.

As is often the case, we will wisely wait until this product is available at a price lower than its public price elsewhere than at LEGO to crack on. In my eyes, the thing is not worth the €100 requested by the manufacturer, whatever its fun potential.

75396 lego starwars desert skiff sarlacc pit 1

Today we take a quick tour of the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75396 Desert Skiff and Sarlacc Pit, a box of 558 pieces which will be available via the official online store as well as in LEGO Stores from August 1, 2024 at the public price of €79,99.

This is not the first time that LEGO has offered a derivative product combining the Desert Skiff and the Sarlacc, long-time collectors necessarily remember the set 6210 Jabba's Sail Barge (781 pieces - €74,99) sold in 2006, from the reference 9496 Desert Skiff (213 pieces - €33,99) launched in 2012 as well as the set 75174 Desert Skiff Escape (277 pieces - €39,99) marketed in 2017, but here we are witnessing an inversion of the size ratio between the two elements of the set with a Sarlacc Pit which takes on more scale compared to a Skiff which remains an interpretation as always modest of the machine.

LEGO offering a toy for young fans, it was necessary to integrate something to have a little fun with this product and it is the Sarlacc which is responsible for offering a fun function with tentacles which can be set in motion via two wheels placed one side of the building. The mouth of the Sarlacc is not associated with this functionality, it must be opened and closed manually. The creature's hole gains context with a much wider border than in previous interpretations, it was necessary to conceal the mechanism.

We could discuss the shape of the hole, the thickness of the edges of the construction which seems to come out of the ground and the interest of offering something so bulky and consuming parts in a box like that, but this is undoubtedly the most consistent proposition of the Sarlacc Pit in a LEGO version to date and it at least has the merit of taking the subject a little more seriously than for previous interpretations.

The Desert Skiff delivered in this box is a direct homage to the version marketed in 2017, of which it retains the proportions and takes up the main lines while adding some welcome finishing details. The machine “floats” in the air thanks to a few transparent parts, and for once this is very good news.

I often criticize LEGO for offering us ships and machines that rest miserably on the ground instead of being presented in suspension, I am satisfied to see that the manufacturer does not skimp here on the provision of transparent parts. Mobile barrier, retractable board, the features are there and playability is assured. No stickers in this box, it should be noted.

For many adult fans, this product will obviously only beg to be associated with the Jabba's Sail Barge in the format Ultimate Collector Series that the rumor promises us for October 2024 under the reference 75397, it will be necessary to check if the staging works by admitting that the UCS set of more than 4000 pieces does not contain any of the two elements presented here on a more suitable scale.

75396 lego starwars desert skiff sarlacc pit 12

In terms of minifigs, this box does not disappoint with a consistent casting and a good effort in updating the outfits for some of the characters. For those who are wondering, Boba Fett is identical here to the version delivered in the set 75369 Boba Fett Mech (€15.99) and the Chewbacca figurine is the one delivered in many boxes for several years.

The rest of the cast, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Lando Calrissian, benefit from new elements. Big update for the version of Lando disguised as Skiff Guard, the figurine is really very accomplished with this time pad-printed legs and an update of the printing on the usual helmet.

The figurine responsible for celebrating the 25th anniversary of the LEGO Star Wars range is not completely off topic here even if the character has nothing to do in this scene: it is the pilot Nien Nunb seen alongside Lando Calrissian in Episode VI.

This character will probably never be entitled to a real set featuring him and LEGO will have judged that the only opportunity to offer him to fans was during the inclusion of various and varied minifigs in a series of sets for celebrate the 25th anniversary of the range. Too bad for the slight difference in color between the red pieces and the pad printing on a black background in the center of the torso.

Once again, we are looking for the €80 requested by LEGO in the contents of this box, the new pad printing offered does not justify this price positioning. We get a luxury toy with a few features and half a dozen figurines including a completely new character, but the public price of this product seems really high to me as it stands.

We will therefore wait, as is often the case, for this company to benefit from a reduction in its public price or an opportunity to be offered something to thank us for agreeing to pay full price for it.

75385 lego starwars ahsoka tano duel peridea 1

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75385 Ahsoka Tano's Duel on Peridea, a box of 382 pieces that will be available from August 1, 2024 at the public price of 54,99 €.

LEGO sells this product to us as a playset for children offering several features which should in principle allow you to have fun with it and it must be admitted that the youngest can actually reproduce a scene seen in the series Star Wars: Ahsoka taking advantage of the three rotating platforms integrated into the game board and a seesaw to make Ezra take off. Why not, it is above all a simple toy and we cannot blame LEGO for having made the effort to allow a little interactivity, especially in exchange for €55.

The platform designed to display the five figurines delivered in this box is quite well designed, the mechanism which allows the moving sections to move is discreet but remains easily accessible on both sides of the playset. The few black pillars present give a little volume to the setting and if the whole thing is not wildly creative, we find the context of the series.

This set is once again flanked by a large sheet of stickers, with stickers on a black background which are graphically very well executed, without which the construction would largely lack context and character. Once again, the background color of some of these stickers, those on a gray background, does not completely match the color of the parts on which they are installed and it is ugly.

From my perspective as an adult fan, I try to console myself by viewing the build that accompanies the handful of figures provided as nothing more than a display stand. Seen like that, it's almost successful, there is room to install the minifigs in dynamic poses and the game board then becomes a beautiful setting, a little too expensive. We can always see the glass half empty or half full.

75385 lego starwars ahsoka tano duel peridea 5

75385 lego starwars ahsoka tano duel peridea 7

As for the minifigs delivered in this box, fans are served with the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn, seen for the first time at LEGO in 2017 in the set 75170 The Phantom, and here equipped with "real" boots via the two-color injection of the legs. The other characters are all graphically successful with accomplished pad printing and a very satisfactory level of detail.

Morgan Elsbeth gets legs this time instead of the dress seen in the set 75364 New Republic E-wing vs. Shin Hati's Starfighter as well as a very appropriate facial marking. She brandishes Talzin's sword which here benefits from the part used for the blade of the Darksaber but in a transparent green color. Ahsoka and Ezra both benefit from numerous graphic details which make these minifigs beautiful interpretations of the characters seen on the screen.

Double face for everyone except for the Night Trooper with an angry expression on all the protagonists which corresponds to the proposed scene and outfits specifically adapted to the context of the product for the characters already seen at LEGO, it's perfect. The manufacturer, however, only provides one Night Trooper with a zombie head, it's meager but we will cross our fingers that one day we will be entitled to a Battle Pack bringing together several of them and Captain Enoch, a character that LEGO could have included in this box for the same price.

To make a long story short, I think we all understood from the announcement of this product that its main selling point lies in the presence of the five new minifigs provided, no one was really raving about the associated construction. For my part, I choose to see the latter as a simple display, the price is a little better. That won't stop me from waiting for this box to be offered at a more attractive price elsewhere than at LEGO, €55 for that is still a bit expensive.

Note: The product shown here, provided by LEGO, is as usual involved. Deadline fixed at July 14, 2024 next at 23:59 p.m. Simply post a comment below the article to participate. Your participation is taken into account regardless of your opinion. Avoid “I’m participating” or “I’m trying my luck”, we suspect that this is the case.
