The rumor is growing: We should have a new Batmobile in 2012.

There is indeed a high probability that LEGO will offer us a new set containing this iconic vehicle from the Batman universe. Identifiable by everyone, young and old, the Batmobile will ensure the commercial success of the set in which it will be found.

The question that remains unanswered is: Which Batmobile? A model faithful to the comics or a version of the Tumbler seen in the last films directed by Christopher Nolan with Christian Bale as Batman. The release in 2012 of the last part of the trilogy could encourage to consider a Tumbler.

Personally I lean for a version closer to that of the set 7784 The Batmobile: Ultimate Collectors' Edition released in 2006, as a kind of homecoming, eagerly awaited by fans and late collectors.

In the Batman range (2006-2008), there is also a Batmobile in the set system 7781 The Batmobile: Two-Face's Escape also released in 2006, and a version of the Tumbler in the set system 7888 The Tumbler: Joker's Ice Cream Surprise released in 2008.

In the chapter of the most active rumors of the moment, we also speak of a Batwing of which we had already been entitled to a version in 2006 with the set system 7782 The Batwing: The Joker's Aerial AssaultOf course, and I cannot repeat it enough, these are rumors without a confirmed credible source.

Only the release of a few preliminary photos of upcoming sets or a cleverly orchestrated LEGO blunder will confirm or deny these rumors.

And let's go for the usual more or less realistic rumors about the sets to come for 2012.
For the moment, few details, no information on the content of the sets, their price or the minifigs.
