All the reviews that we can read on the different sites / blogs / forums are generally carried out by AFOLs, always demanding, often complacent and sometimes a little mono-manic ...
The Lord of the Rings fan site, TheOneRing.net , has published its first review of set 9470 Shelob Attacks, with a different tone, as it was written by someone who admits to not having touched a LEGO set in at least 10 years. Consequently, his opinion is more consumer/player-oriented, which is quite interesting.
Moreover, he notes, and he is the only one to do so with appreciable candor, that the legs of the Hobbits minifigs are not articulated, limiting their mobility.
AFOLs already know that this is the case on the short version of the minifig legs, but I don't see anyone complaining about it now when LEGO could make the effort to offer a slightly more mobile version instead of laying us down minifigs with which it will be difficult to stage classic situations, such as the gang of Hobbits fleeing in front of some bellicose orcs ... After all, in the cinematographic saga, the troop spends more time running than 'to stand stupidly in the middle of nowhere ...
