Review : magnetic levitation support for the DeLorean Speed ​​Champions

I received the magnetic levitation stand I recently told you about because I plan to display the DeLorean from the LEGO Speed ​​Champions set. 77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future (€27,99) in flight situation.

Long story short: it works.

To elaborate a little, the tray is powered by a power adapter, you have to be patient to position the magnet well in the center and you end up with a support that allows you to place the vehicle in suspension. The finish of the whole is very decent, the tray is sober with a very correct beveled finish on the sides.

The magnet, equipped with a non-slip felt, slowly rotates on itself, and the effect is quite convincing. The vehicle used here, from the LEGO Speed ​​Champions set 77239 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (€26,99), floats about two centimeters above the platform, which is, in my opinion, more than enough. The magnet on which the vehicle is installed does not protrude too much on the edges, it is a little thick seen from the side but in my opinion it is visually very correct.

Please note that when the turntable is powered on, you can hear a very slight whistling noise. I am not sensitive to these frequencies and they do not bother me, but I know that some people cannot stand this CoilWine (coil noise) very common in the field of electronics.

Whether you should spend around fifty euros on this is up to everyone to decide depending on their budget and priorities. Personally, I really like the visual effect and it will look great on the living room sideboard. Before I get tired of it and give it all to Chloé so she can have fun displaying an expensive bottle of perfume in her bathroom, for example.
