We continue today with another new bag that you will have to try to find on the shelves of a toy store or at an online retailer: the LEGO Star Wars reference 30495AT-ST. This polybag of 79 pieces allows you to assemble an AT-ST in Hoth version and this unpretentious bag makes direct reference to the set 75322 Hoth AT-ST (586 pieces - 49.99 €) available since January 1st.
The AT-ST to be assembled here is obviously ultra-simplified but the result obtained is in my opinion very correct considering the subject treated and the limited inventory. The notched parts used for the legs seem to promise greater mobility than that of the large model sold for €49.99, but this is not the case. It is certainly possible to loosely orient the two legs of the machine, but it is almost impossible to find a position that allows it to stand up. Small significant refinement: the cabin rotates 360 °, it is also rather well dressed for a version on this scale.
Even if this AT-ST is not a very exciting model, it remains in my opinion still more pleasing to the eye than those already marketed in bags by LEGO, I am thinking in particular of the two versions delivered with the official LEGO Star magazine Wars, with a classic AT-ST in 2018 then a AT-ST Raider in 2021, or polybag 30054AT-ST of 2011.
Too bad LEGO does not deign to add a minifig in the bag, just to really promote the Hoth theme in the spotlight at the start of the year in the LEGO Star Wars range. The presence of a rebel soldier or an imperial pilot would inevitably change the perception of the product with all those who hesitate to spend their money on these uninteresting mini-models which generally end up at the bottom of a drawer after assembly. As it is, this sachet only deserved to be offered for example for the combined purchase of the three references on the same theme launched in January: 40557 Defense of Hoth, 75320 Snowtrooper Battle Pack, and 75322 Hoth AT-ST.
To try to end on a positive note, this AT-ST can possibly be used in a diorama that implements a forced perspective effect. It is all I have.
Note: The polybag presented here is as usual put into play. Deadline fixed at 14th February 2022 next at 23pm.
Update : The winner was drawn and notified by email, his nickname is indicated below.
