Here is the promotional set that LEGO will not be giving you next August: The box of 29 pieces 40320 Plants from Plants which refers to the change of raw material for some of the items in the LEGO catalog.
Some LEGO pieces representing plants are indeed now made from ethanol from the distillation of sugar cane. However, this bio-plastic is not biodegradable, and the use of sugar cane does not change the manufacturing process or the properties of the plastic obtained at the outlet.
This small box will be offered from € 35 / £ 35 / $ 35 purchase in the USA, Canada, UK and Germany only.
For information, LEGO gave us a copy of this box on the occasion of the Fan Media Days which took place at the beginning of June in Billund, asking us not to betray the "secret" before August. The Store Calendar US for the month of August 2018 sold the wick for a few days, ...
In short, we still do not know why the promotional operation is reserved only for certain countries, but be aware that these bio-polyethylene elements will gradually replace their polyethylene equivalents in future sets and will keep the same references.
If this box seems essential to you, you will find buckets of it on eBay and Bricklink within hours of its availability, on August 1st.
