It is finally here: the 17th episode of the Briquefan program, entitled "Tales of the Hobbit", is available. I discovered it in its final version at the same time as you, the version projected during the preview which took place a few weeks ago in Limoges was cut off from certain scenes.
Remember, five years ago, Antoine promised us a new episode of the Briquefan adventure via a crowdfunding campaign posted online on the Ulule platform. The bet was then ambitious: to finance an episode of the show centered on the LEGO The Hobbit range by investing the funds collected in the production and the realization to raise the level a little more. Fans followed suit and the initial funding cap was exploded within hours. Five years later, the result is finally visible on the show's Youtube channel with a 1h10 episode that gives pride of place to transition scenes and ultra-polished models.
Those who know the channel and have followed the various shows offered since 2013 should not be disappointed and will obviously not blame Antoine for taking his time. It's Briquefan as we already loved it at the time, well documented, with its running gags, its wacky characters and its info on the various products concerned distilled in a somewhat unusual form. This technically more accomplished 17th episode does not renew the genre, it is in the continuity of what made the success of the show and that's good. I have never hidden my admiration for Antoine's work, the wind of freshness that blew over the small world of LEGO in 2013 was in my opinion welcome in a context where many young creators were often content to reproduce in the infinite what they had seen elsewhere.
Those who did not know the channel and who discover its existence on the occasion of this article, because they were for example too young at the time, must give the product a chance. They shouldn't be disappointed. Briquefan is much more than a simple program on LEGO products, it is a complete entertainment around LEGO products that has accompanied many children and adolescents today older than a few years who are all happy to be able to dive back into a universe who knew how to distract them for a few years.
Antoine had already announced that this 17th episode would be the last. It's up to us to prove to him that the adventure deserves to be extended by exploding the view counter. Come on, just one more episode. Or two.
