Finally, here are the official images (proposed by grogall on Eurobricks, don't be afraid to cite your sources) from one of the most mysterious sets in the LEGO Star Wars range from early 2012: The set 9495 Gold Leader's Y-Wing Starfighter.
On the program a rather well-designed Y-Wing, even if LEGO has already offered this machine in many sets so far (no less than six sets including UCS 10134 and the various re-releases), and three minifigs with Princess Leia, Gold Leader and R5-F7.
Gold Leader could in fact be Jon "Dutch" Vander, who was leading the Gold Squadron of the Rebel Alliance during the Battle of Yavin. This same Dutch Vander was killed by Darth Vader during the assault on the Death Star. But the code name Gold Leader was also used on other occasions, notably by Anakin Skywalker during the Battle of Bothawui (Clone Wars). We can therefore consider this driver as a generic minifig.
Leia's minifigure is very successful. It could be used in particular to reconstitute the final scene of theEpisode IV: A New Hope, in the company of the two minifigs delivered by the DK editions with the two books LEGO® Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary et LEGO® Star Wars Character Encyclopedia.
R5-F7 is the astromech droid used by Lieutenant Lepira in the assault on the Death Star and at the Battle of Yavin. but this character was using the code Gold 4 during the battle of Yavin. He was killed during the assault on the first Death Star. The presence of R5-F7 in this set reinforces the generic character of the present pilot. There is something for everyone, after all the face of this minifigure is quite ordinary ...
