Tastes and preferences are a matter of opinion... or rather, they can be debated when LEGO goes a bit overboard with the mixing of styles. This 9497 Republic Striker-Class Starfighter set isn't fundamentally bad; it even has some interesting features ( see this article ). But the more I see it, the more I think the manufacturer should have kept it simple to avoid the Christmas tree effect.
I remember the presence of Satele Shan, charismatic female character from The Old Republic saga, the bizarre astromech droid T7-O1 and the courageous Jace Malcom, boss of the Havoc Squad. For the rest, we quickly forget the incongruous storage space of the lightsaber between the two reactors (??) or the ridiculous weapon of Jace Malcom that LEGO could have created in the form of a new mold.
A set on which few fans will rush, but which has the merit as I have already said to bring a little revival in the Star Wars range. It's flashy, a little simplistic, not very well finished, but it's new. So I say yes, but on sale or on sale.
