Today I received the 76039 Ant-Man Final Battle set ordered from the LEGO Shop, and as expected, this is the corrected version of the product (and manual).
The box does not mention the number of pieces, as is usually the case in Europe, this mention being reserved for the US market where the manufacturer has the obligation to detail the content of the product in a visible manner and using a unit of calculation relating to the content described, in this specific case the number of pieces.
The illustration visual on the box and on the instruction booklet is the original one, it has not been modified for this new improved version of the product.
The only possible indication that this is a different version from the initial product, the mention 124957-2 under the barcode located on the edge of the box ...
I'll leave you, I have a giant ant to build.
Your busy life as a LEGO fan will not be turned upside down by this info, but it is always interesting to know what LEGO is doing in its back room to sell us products that meet our requirements: You have probably noticed that the set 76039 Ant-Man Final Battle was unavailable from launch in the LEGO Shop and in the LEGO Stores while the rest of the Super Heroes new products were already on the shelves.
The explanation, the real one, lies in the two photos presented here: The first "final" model has been modified by the manufacturer with the addition of a dozen parts which significantly improve mobility, stability and "playability" of the legs of the giant ant.
The original box, containing the original version of the creature (above) has been widely distributed in the USA and customers wishing to obtain additional parts and the new version of the instructions can contact LEGO customer service.
The European market is in principle not affected by this change, only the 195-piece version of this set (183 pieces of the original version + 12 pieces needed for modifications) is for sale (below).

To pass the time, here are the official visuals of the set 76039 Ant-Man Final Battle expected in early June. This will be the one and only set based on the film which is slated for theatrical release on July 14th.
In the box, 183 pieces and 3 superb minifigs (Yellow Jacket, Hank Pym and Ant-Man) and a Super Jumper, controversial accessory now present in many boxes.
By the way, if you want to regularly check whether the official visuals of the set you are expecting have been uploaded by LEGO on its server, I recommend that you download the utility Lego image grabber created by Meiko.
This simple little software allows you to carry out a search with the reference of the set. If the visuals are online at LEGO, you can then view the image in different resolutions and save it. It's very simple and it passes the time ...
If we only speak logically of the next Avengers at the moment, let's not forget the theatrical release on July 22 of the film Ant-Man with the cast Paul Rudd (Scott Lang / Ant-Man), Michael Douglas ( Hank Pym), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne / The Wasp) and even Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter).
For the occasion, LEGO will offer us a single box: The set 76039 Ant-Man Final Battle. In the box, three superb minifigs (Yellow Jacket, Hank Pym and Ant-Man) that we had already discovered during the last New York Toy Fair, of which here are some views of two of them (Ant-Man and Yellow Jacket) in close-up uploaded by luiggi on his flickr gallery.
Little information circulates on the set Marvel 76039 expected for summer 2015, but we learn all the same that it should be a box representing the "final battle"from the film with inside Scott Lang/Ant-Man (played on screen by Paul Rudd), a giant winged ant, the villain of the film (it would not be Yellowjacket / Darren Cross) as well as oversized bricks, probably to place the supplied minifigs in a suitable context without having to resort to microfigs.
Update : The second minifigure in the set is that of Hank Pym.
UK Public Price: £ 19.99 (approx. 26 €)
