LEGO Ninjago 71745 Lloyd's Jungle Chopper Bike

Today we take a quick look at the set 71745 Lloyd's Jungle Chopper Bike, one of the four boxes currently marketed in the LEGO Ninjago range which show the events taking place in the special episode "The unknown island" .

In the packaging, a modest inventory of 183 parts which allows to assemble (again) a motorcycle for Lloyd, a vehicle presented here as 2-in-1 by LEGO and from which we can extract a surfboard that will allow Nya to move. This relative "modularity" of the bike is in passing the main functionality of this small set sold for € 19.99.

You guessed it, the bike is assembled very quickly and the end result is nothing exceptional. It is in the details that it is necessary to look to find some interesting parts or techniques with for example two rims in Pearl Gold which until now were only available in the DC Comics set 76159 Joker's Trike Chase (2020) and a very simple but effective rear suspension, based on two Technic rubber parts on which the two beams which hold the rear wheel crash down.

For the rest, the body of the vehicle, about twenty centimeters long, uses a few Technic pieces on which decorative elements are grafted, a handful of stickers are glued and it's done.

The surfboard is then plugged into the back and the motorcycle then becomes a somewhat hybrid machine equipped with a fabric sail similar to those seen on the two boats in the set. 71748 Sea Battle Catamaran. These veils are only printed on one side and they will probably tend to get dirty and crumpled easily, the pattern on the other hand is very successful.

Even if the sand yacht loses a little of its splendor when the two elements are separated, this modularity offered by this product makes it possible at least to obtain two machines with which it is possible to play two without getting too bored. For a LEGO set at 20 €, this is already a weighty argument.

LEGO Ninjago 71745 Lloyd's Jungle Chopper Bike

The pilot is well protected by a roll bar which folds over his shoulders but Lloyd has no handlebars to steer his machine. The young ninja therefore has his hands empty when he is standing in front of his control panel (a sticker) and it's a bit of a shame.

As in all the other sets inspired by the adventures of the little troop on the unknown island, LEGO includes in this box a copy of the Amulet of the Storm and this set is the cheapest option to obtain the item.

LEGO Ninjago 71745 Lloyd's Jungle Chopper Bike

As for the three minifigs delivered in this box, two are available in other sets, Lloyd in version to Iceland with his tactical outfit and the Rumble Keeper with his colorful shield, and only Nya is exclusive to this set. The pad printing of this minifigure is also really very successful, with here also a detailed tactical vest that covers a blue pad-printed outfit on a background in Pearl Dark Gray and whose color is almost matched with those of the arms.

If you have to look for an argument to justify the purchase of this small box, it is therefore on the side of Nya's unseen minifigure that you have to look. The motorcycle with its onboard surfboard does not demerit but the machine does not revolutionize the genre, especially in the Ninjago range.

For fans of Nya: we know that the character will occupy a central role in the 15th season of the animated series, so there will certainly be some new never-before-seen versions of the girl to add to your collections.

LEGO Ninjago 71745 Lloyd's Jungle Chopper Bike

In short, for 20 €, we are not going to ask too much and this small box is the ideal complement for all those who have already invested in one or more of the other sets on the same theme. The whole of this sub-range highlights pretty tampographs, a few good ideas and it refreshes a universe that often hums with reissues and a little less inspired sets. For me, it was a great discovery knowing that I am neither the target nor a nostalgic fan of the arrival of the Ninjago range in the LEGO catalog in 2011.

Note: The set presented here, provided by LEGO, is as usual involved. Deadline fixed at April 2th next at 23pm.

LEGO Ninjago 71746 Jungle Dragon

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Ninjago set 71746 Jungle Dragon, a box of 506 pieces sold at the public price of 39.99 € since March 1 which is also one of the four references currently marketed which showcase the events taking place in the special episode "The unknown island" .

The regulars of the Ninjago universe know it, the dragon is a chestnut tree of the range with more or less successful proposals according to the boxes in which we find these creatures. A little rickety, poorly or poorly articulated, difficult to handle without breaking everything, the Ninjago range is full of sometimes successful dragons and others much less convincing.

This "Jungle Dragon" about thirty centimeters long, which looks a bit like a big lizard closer to the universe of the Elves range than to the usual atmosphere of Ninjago products, is distinguished both by the colors used and by the "forced" pose imposed by the assembly of the body of the beast in the arched position. This choice on the part of the designer ensures the user to always present their dragon in an interesting position, then instructs each fan to orient the legs, head and tail of the dragon according to the staging chosen.

The creature is therefore articulated at different points and we find the Ball Seals usual gray. As often, these assemblies have a little trouble really integrating into the overall aesthetic of the model and remain here for example really visible at the level of the neck and the hind legs. It's a little better at the junction between the front legs and the dragon's body with a few decorative pieces that somehow hide the articulation mechanism.

LEGO Ninjago 71746 Jungle Dragon

LEGO Ninjago 71746 Jungle Dragon

The head of this dragon seems really successful to me with its movable jaw fixed via two robot arms at the top. This solution offers maximum mobility to the whole but it also turns out to be a little fragile with the risk that the lower part, loaded with a few parts embodying the dragon's tongue, will come off. The pad printing on the upper part of the head is superb, this dragon / lizard has a really impressive menacing look.

The tail of the dragon is also in my opinion very successful, the sub-assemblies which compose it form a pretty very dense mobile chain which does not reveal too much the connection points. I find the 360 ° adjustable wings a little less interesting with a lot of gray parts at the junction between these two rather sketchy appendages and the body of the animal. The dragon can transport Lloyd through the seat provided, an accessory that can easily be removed if you want to expose the creature without this paraphernalia.

There are nine stickers to stick on the dragon's body to refine its appearance. The patterns on the different stickers are matched with those pad printed on the animal's head and the background color of the stickers matches that of the parts Teal. The golden patterns printed on these different stickers ensure the aesthetic junction with the elements in Gold used on the back of the animal. It's visually consistent.

In the box, there is also something to assemble a slightly techno windsurfing board in the colors of Zane. Why not knowing that this element is the only one to have Stud Shooters which allow you to knock out the two guards provided. The Tile en Pearl Gold placed on the sail is pad printed, it is also available in the set 71740 Jay's Electro-Mech (19.99 €).

LEGO Ninjago 71746 Jungle Dragon

The endowment in minifigs provided in this box is correct and we especially remember the presence of PoulErik, the Guardian with two heads. The minifigure isn't exactly exclusive, it's just a combination of items used for other Guardians. The two ninjas in version to Iceland and Thunder Keeper are also available in other boxes. If it's only Lloyd's minifig with its war paint and tactical outfit that interests you, know that you can get it in a much cheaper set of the range, the reference 71745 Lloyd's Jungle Chopper Bike (19.99 €), and in the polybag 30539 Lloyd's Quad Bike which was offered in February in the LEGO Stores.

In summary, this Jungle Dragon is in my opinion to be classified among the most successful dragons in the range, it offers a relatively high level of detail with a nice gradient of the Teal to sandgreen, all embellished with golden pieces, it offers the possibility of making him take many poses and it looks great from almost any angle. Some fans of the Ninjago universe might find it a bit off topic for the range, tastes and colors don't argue.

The set is sold at the public price of 39.99 €, a price that can in my opinion be considered relatively reasonable taking into account the construction experience, the finish of the model, the handle of minifigs provided and the playful possibilities. offered by this box which only asks to be combined with the rocky peak of the set 71747 The Keepers' Village sold for its part 49.99 €.

LEGO Ninjago 71747 The Keepers' Village

Today we are quickly interested in the LEGO Ninjago set 71747 The Keepers' Village, a box of 632 pieces which will be sold at the public price of 49.99 € from March 1st. This set is one of the four references announced which will stage the events taking place in the special episode "The unknown island" which will be broadcast on France 4 on Saturday February 27, 2021 at 21:00 p.m.

No vehicle rolling, flying or floating in this box, we focus on creating a context and an atmosphere and we assemble the lair of the Guardians, a colorful tribe domiciled on "the unknown island" under the orders of Chief Mammatus. At just 30cm long by 19cm wide, this isn't the ultimate playset but the designer has tried to fill the space with several features that should keep the youngest busy.

We will retain the cell dug in the rock from which a young ninja who would be taken prisoner can escape by slipping through the mouth of the dragon which conceals an access hatch or the trap which allows to catch a reckless hero by lifting manually the trunk to which the chain is hung. Note that the left part of the playset unfolds to facilitate access to the cell placed in the dragon's mouth.

LEGO Ninjago 71747 The Keepers' Village

LEGO Ninjago 71747 The Keepers' Village

At the top of the rocky outcrop sits a totem of about fifteen centimeters made up of three distinct blocks at the top of which is the amulet of the storm. The construction is plugged into a tilting axle which allows it to be set in motion before extracting it.

It is then easily divided into several subsets with movable arms and armed with sharp tricks that can fight the ninjas. Each of the totem's levels is dressed with a sticker and these stickers to put on a rounded surface all display a different expression. The youngest would also be well inspired to get help to put these stickers so as not to spoil the final rendering. If you are only interested in the Storm Amulet, you should know that it is present in all four boxes and that the cheapest solution to obtain this item is the set. 71745 Lloyd's Jungle Chopper Bike (183coins - € 19.99).

As often, the size of the box suggests a construction a little more imposing than that obtained after a few tens of minutes of assembly, but the whole which brings together a piece of sea, a beach, a little vegetation and a rocky peak with its lava flows still seems very convincing from an aesthetic point of view. Then it's up to the fans to invent what goes around.

If I had to quibble a bit, I think the back of the playset would have deserved a little more care. Playing in pairs or more around such a compact construction will imply that one of the participants ends up at the back of the stage which lacks a bit of finishing, I would have preferred a product completed on 360 °.

LEGO Ninjago 71747 The Keepers' Village

LEGO Ninjago 71747 The Keepers' Village

The endowment in minifigs is sufficient to have fun with the contents of this box without needing to add the contents of other sets. The Guardian Tribe might seem understaffed with just two characters that also come in other sets, but the three belligerent elements of the totem pole will provide some boost.

Three ninjas in version to Iceland are delivered in this set: Cole, Jay and Kai. Only Cole is only available in this box, Jay and Kai are also delivered in the set 71748 Sea Battle Catamaran (780coins - 74.99 €). I say it again, the pad prints are really very well done and Cole's minifigure is really superb with its tactical gear. I'm not repeating the verse about members of the Guardian tribe, the minifigs and their tribal accessories are beautiful.

LEGO Ninjago 71747 The Keepers' Village

This playset at the almost reasonable price seems to me in the end to be a good surprise, it allows to contextualize the confrontation between the young ninjas and the tribe of Guardians and it constitutes a good starting point to which we can eventually add the other boxes on the same subject which will be available in March whose reference 71746 Jungle Dragon (506coins - € 39.99).

The designer succeeds in offering a very compact construction, the finish of which is not sloppy and which offers some interesting features. Many other LEGO sets don't and the effort is worth highlighting.

LEGO Ninjago 71748 Catamaran Sea Battle

Without transition, today we take a quick look at one of the five new boxes in the Ninjago range that will be available from March 1: the reference 71748 Sea Battle Catamaran (780coins - € 74.99).

The last trailer dated the special episode "The unknown island" had allowed us to see the contents of this box in action and there is something here to have fun with two floating craft accompanied by six characters. You already know that the LEGO Ninjago range is not one of the ones I particularly like or collect, but LEGO kindly offered me to take a tour of the novelties of March 2021 and so it was the opportunity for me to return to a world that my children put aside for a few years after having accumulated many boxes in their toy boxes.

The set offers plenty of fun without having to go back to the cash register and that's already great news. The contents of the box invite to embark on a nautical pursuit between nice ninjas and colorful villains under the orders of Chief Mammatus. The two catamarans are quickly assembled but they seem to me sufficiently detailed to mark on the one hand the techno-futuristic aspect of the machines usually piloted by the young ninjas and on the other the tribal / artisanal side of the boat of the villains of the season to come.

LEGO Ninjago 71748 Catamaran Sea Battle

LEGO Ninjago 71748 Catamaran Sea Battle

The functions integrated into the two machines are limited: that of Kai can vaguely deploy to go into attack mode while that of the "Guardians" has two detachable side modules to vary the situations and a retractable jaw which allows to ram the enemy machine.

The two boats are also equipped with coin-throwing devices: two Stud Shooters on one of the floats and two Spring-shooters on the central structure for the Chief Mammatus catamaran and two Spring-Shooters for that of Kai. The wicked catamaran also has a cell to lock up a young ninja by folding the bones onto the figurine. Nothing crazy, but that's always taken for those who want to have a little fun.

Each of the two boats is equipped with a fabric sail which in my opinion will have a little trouble withstanding the onslaught of the younger ones. the accessory creases, tears and gets dirty easily and I would have preferred a washable and stronger flexible plastic sail. The impressions on these two sails are very successful, and their presence really gives volume and presence to the two boats.

There are a few stickers to stick on to dress the two machines and the youngest will probably have to get help to put those which decorate the curved nose of the Guardians catamaran. The other stickers are easier to stick and the two boats also benefit from these nice graphic details.

LEGO Ninjago 71748 Catamaran Sea Battle

LEGO Ninjago 71748 Catamaran Sea Battle

The assortment in minifigs is very balanced here and the tribe of the "Guardians" is really very successful with high-level pad printing and accessories with exemplary finish. The level of detail on the torso, legs, mask and shield is impressive and flawless.

Le Thunder keeper and Rumble keeper use identical torsos and legs, but the heads are unique. We find all the members of the colorful tribe in other sets of the range, they are not exclusive to this box which is however the only one to bring together the three figurines.

As for the young ninjas, the three characters delivered in this box, Jay, Kai and Zane are in an "Island" version and LEGO does not skimp on the pad printing. They set off in search of Misako, Wu and Clutch Powers, all three missing on the Unknown Island, and their outfits are logically embellished with tactical equipment.

In short, the LEGO Ninjago range rarely rests on its laurels and designers generally know how to maintain the interest of long-time fans by offering ever more original products. This box offers a rather successful content which should appeal to both those who are new to this universe and those who are faithful to this range since 2011. It's original, it's playable and the minifigs are really successful. What more could you ask for apart from perhaps a more contained price?

Note: The set presented here, provided by LEGO, is as usual involved. Deadline fixed at 1er March 2021 next at 23pm. "The" I try, I participate "are automatically deleted, make an effort.
