Are you over 12 and receiving the LEGO Club Magazine in the mail? It's over soon: This free magazine, whose content is aimed at young people, will no longer be sent to adult subscribers at the end of the year.
The decision was announced by Keith Severson, the boss of the CEE Team (the team in charge of relations between LEGO and AFOLs).
Let's be honest, whether this decision is motivated by editorial or economic considerations, it still makes sense. The content of this magazine is clearly aimed at children and LEGO is only refocusing the medium on its direct target.
I myself am a subscriber and apart from looking for new information or a visual announcing an upcoming novelty hidden in the pages of this magazine, "reading" all the content usually only takes a few minutes.
That being said, I know that many AFOLs collect the different issues of this medium which sometimes contains some nice comics based on the different licenses operated by LEGO (Star Wars, Super Heroes, TMNT, etc ...).
If you really want to continue receiving the LEGO Club magazine, you can register your children, invent some, ask your neighbors if you can have the subscription addressed in the name of their children, etc ... There are plenty of solutions.
The magazine will still be available in the LEGO Stores for those lucky enough to have one nearby.
