And Tontus is one of them. Not content with having acquired the 10225 UCS R2-D2 set , he chose to create variations of the astromech droid in question and to reproduce some of his colleagues with their respective colors.
Thus, from left to right in the photo above, we find: R2-Q2 (who was aboard the Devastator ), R2-R9 (serving Amidala on Naboo), and R2-B1 (who accompanied R2-R9 on Naboo). They are clearly largely inspired by the design of the official LEGO model, and Tontus admits to having made some adaptations of his own, notably changing a few parts to save money.
Tontus also integrated Artifex LED kits onto these droids, something LEGO could very well have considered on the official model to bring a little life to the tin can in question...
The MOCeur does not intend to stop there, and it already offers the LDD versions of its future droids, namely R5-D4 and R4-I9.
